Guest guest
Dear All, This is an attempt to translate the explanation of Dwaitham, Vishishtadwaitham and Adwaitham given by Prkashaananda Swamigal. One may or may not agree with his explanation. But I found it interesting and sharing with you. Regards and prayers Savitri Jnaathum- means " to know " - This is the nature of Dwaitham or Duality- . In this stage, Bhagavan and Bhakthan are separate, but bhakthan knows the greatness of Bhagavan. They are connected through bhakthi. Dwaithi says: Bhagavan will help ME in need. He has achieved Saalokyam, means he is in the SAME WORLD as Bhagavan. Drashtum- means " To see " -Vishishtadwaitham Bhakthan has reached NEAR Bhagavan, but they are separate. This means he has Saalokyam and Saameepyam, that is, he is in the SAME WORLD as Bhagavan and is NEAR Bhagavan. Vishishtadwaithi says, Bhagavan is MINE. Praveshtum- means " to merge " - Adwaitham- nonduality Sarva samarpanam -complete surrender. Bhakthan MERGES into Bhagavan. Bhakthan attains, Saalokyam, Sameepyam and then Saayujyam, means, he gets to Bhagavan's world, gets very near him, and then he gets SALVATION or saayujyam by merging with Him.. Adwaithi says: I belong to Him or I am His or Aham Brhamasmi. (please note that the difference in saying " He is mine " and " I am His " .There is no feeling of possession. Only complete surrender.) Now there is an analogy Given by Samigal for this: We KNEW (JNAATHUM) about the big and sweet mangoes in the market- state of Dwaitham. We heard about it and were happy that we could go and get it anytime. We are aware of the availability and greatness of mango. (saalokyam only) We went to the market, bought the mangoes and brought it home and SAW (DRASHTUM) the beautiful sweet mango. We are happy that those mangoes are OURS, we OWN them. (enjoys Saameepyam or nearness also). State of Vishshtadwaitham. We removed the skin and ate the mangoes ( MERGED) and experienced the joy of eating the sweetest mangoes. Now we and mangoes are one- state of Adwaitham. ( enjoys Saayujyam or salvation also)
