Guest guest
Dear Friends, I was reading one Ramayana book. It is mentioned that Dasaratha had few daughters but no son. To get a son he performed the Pudra Kameshti Yagam. Is it true that Dasarada had some daughters before sons (Rama & others)? I am extremely sorry if I discuss something irrelevant to this grioup. Guest guest
Dear Dr. Hari, Radhe Krishna! It is true that King Dasaratha had a daughter by name Shanta who was adopted by King Romapada. She was married to a sage named "Rishya-srunga" who was the person who performed the Puthra-kama-ishti (Puthrakameshti) Yaga, from the sacred fire of which a divine person appeared holding the urn containing the divine "Payasam", with instructions to distribute it among the three wives of King Dasaratha. Kindly accessa my website www.narayaneeyam.com in which the commentary of dasakams 34 and 35 of Narayaneeyam which deal with the Rama-avatar is given in detail. Regards. K.V.
