Guest guest
Dear All, Here is a story about the true characteristics of God. This is a translation of a story I read in Malayalam. I liked the explanation and thought it is worth sharing with you. Regards and prayers savitri One day a king asked three questions to one of the great, knowledgeable sages in his court. First question was " Where is God? With out a moment's thinking, the sage said: Do you believe that butter comes from milk and you cannot see the butter in the milk? King agreed fully with the sage. Then he said: like the unseen butter present in the milk, God is everywhere. Question number two was harder: Which direction God is looking? Sage asked the king for a lamp. King had a nice lamp brought to the Sage. Sage lit the lamp and asked the King whether he could say in which direction the lamp was distributing light. King told the sage that the light was distributed equally in all directions. Then the sage said: Exactly this is how the self effulgent God spreads his divine rays everywhere, not just in one direction. Question number three was harder to answer: What does God do? Then sage asked the King whether he would mind him sitting on his beautifully decorated throne for a while and King should sit in sage's seat during that time. King agreed and they exchanged their seats. Sitting on the throne, Sage told the King who was sitting on one of the ordinary chairs: Oh King, This is what God can do. He can bring anybody from riches to rags and vice verse in no time. He can make any changes in our life anytime he wants. We should neither take the credit for our achievements nor blame ourselves when we fail. The only thing He wants us to do is to take the responsibility of doing every task at our best and leave the rest to Him. He is Omnipresent, Omniscient, and Omnipotent
