Pranamya shirasaa devam ,gowri putram vinaayakam

Bhaktaavaasam smaren nityam aayur kaamaartha siddhaye.

Prathamam Vakrathundamcha,Ekadantham Dwideeyakam,

Tritheeyam Krishnapingaaksham,Gajavaktram Chathurthakam,

Lambodharam Panchamamcha, Shastam Vikatamevacha,

Saptamam Vignarajamcha ,Dhoomravarnam Tathaastamam,

Navamam Phaalachandramcha,Dashamam tu Vinaayakam.

Ekadasham Ganapatim ,Dwadasham tu Gajaananam.

Dwaadashaitaani naamaani,trisandhyam yad pather narah,

Na cha vigna bhayam tasya sarva siddhikaram param.

Vidhyaarthi labhathe vidyaan,dhanaarthi labhathe dhanam,

Puthraarthi labhathe puthraan ,mokshaaarthi labhathe gathim.

Patheth ganapathi stotram ,shadbhir maasai phalam labhaet.

Samvatsarena siddhim cha ,labhathe na tra samshayah.

Ashtaanaam braahmananaamcha likhitwa ya samarpayaet,

Tasya vidya bhavaeth sarva ganeshaaya prasaadatah.

 

The meaning ,as Shri Narada explains:

1.with head bowed ,let me unceasingly worship in my mind,the god vinaayaka ,the son of gowri,the refuge of his devotees,for the complete attainment of longevity, worldly desires and wealth.

2.Firstly ,as the one with the twisted trunk.

Secondly ,as the one with the single tusk.

Thirdly ,as the one with the fawn coloured eyes.

Fourthly ,as the one with the elephant's mouth.

Fifthly ,as the pot -bellied one.

Sixthly ,as the monstrous one.

Seventhly ,as the king of obstacles.

Eighthly ,as the smoke coloured one.

Ninethly,as the moon -crested one.

Tenthly ,as the remover of hindrances.

Eleventhly ,as the Lord of the hordes.

Twelfthly,as the one with the elephant's face.

 

3..Whosoever,repeats these twelve names at dawn ,noon and dusk,

For him,there is no fear of failure,nay ,there is constant good fortune!

4.He who desires knowledge ,attains knowledge.

He who desires wealth ,attains wealth.

He who desires children ,attains children.

He who desires salvation ,attains the path.

5.Whosoever ,says this hymn to ganapathi,realises his aim in six months and in a year reaches perfection.

There is no doubt on this point.

6.Whosoever ,makes eight copies of this hymn and has it distributed to as many brahmins ,he reaches knowledge instantaneously,by the grace of ganesha!
