Guest guest
Dear all, I happened to notice something interesting. Usually Anga pooja is to think of each limb or organ of Bhagavan or Devi and do pooja to each of the limbs or organ. But instead of Anga pooja, Emperor Prithu (because of whom Bhoomi got the name Prithwi) did Anga Archana. This means he imagined each of his own limb or organ as a lotus or kamalam and did archana or offering of those lotuses at the Lotus feet of Bhagavan. (This is different from Anga Pooja which is the worship of Lord. Anga Archana is offering ourselves organ by organ at the feet of Lord.) Given below are the small manthraas that can be used to offer all angaas and finally ourselves at the feet of the Lord. It is said that when we have ailments of any specific part of our body, we can offer prayer specific to that part and do archana. Repeated chanting of the particular naamam and archana with real flowers or sankalpa pushppam (imaginary lotus flowers) is very auspicious to cure the ailment. What given below is for Vishnu or Krishna. We can change the naamam and do to each one's Ishtadevatha. Emperor Prithu was a great devotee of Bhagavaan and he offered to Lord Krishna. 1. Aham paada (feet) kamalam samarpayami- Om Koormaaya Nama: 2. Aham gulpha (ankles)) kamalam samarpayami- Om Narasimhaaya Nama: 3. Aham jangha (forelegs) kamalam samarpayami- Om Gopaalaaya Nama: 4. Aham jaanu (knees) kamalam samarpayami- Om Govindaaya Nama: 5. Aham ooru (thighs) kamalam samarpayami- Om Peethaambaraaya Nama: 6. Aham jaghana (hip) kamalam samarpayami- Om Madhusoodanaaya Nama: 7. Aham kati (waist) kamalam samarpayami- Om Nandanandanaaya Nama: 8. Aham udara (stomach) kamalam samarpayami- Om Daamodaraaya Nama: 9. Aham hrudaya (heart) kamalam samarpayami- Om Lakshmikaanthaaya Nama: 10. Aham sthana (breast) kamalam samarpayami- Om Gopijana vallaabhaaya Nama: 11. Aham hastha (hands) kamalam samarpayami- Om Samkha-chakra--gada-padma paanine Nama: 12. Aham gala (neck) kamalam samarpayami- Om Neelakandhapriyaaya Nama: 13. Aham mukkha (face) kamalam samarpayami- Om Sree Krishnaaya Nama: 14. Aham phaala (forhead) kamalam samarpayami- Om Janaardanaaya Nama: 15. Aham nethra (eyes) kamalam samarpayami- Om Vaarijaakshaaya Nama: 16. Aham karna (ears) kamalam samarpayami- Om Mukundaaya Nama: 17. Aham naasika (nose) kamalam samarpayami- Om Vaasudevaaya Nama: 18. Aham adhara (lips) kamalam samarpayami- Om Prasanna vadanaaya Nama: 19. Aham sira (head) kamalam samarpayami- Om Purushotthamaaya Nama: 20 Aham sarvaanga (whole body given by Him) kamalam samarpayami- Om Sarvashakthaaya Nama: Regards and prayers Savitri
