Guest guest
The King And The Brahmin Once a King announced a strange competition, in which he offered 100 gold coins as gift to the winner. The King suggested 3 sins and the competitor must do 1 sin from the 3 sins. But he must not do more than 1 sin. The sins were, 1 Abusing Vedas 2.Drinking Liquor 3.Insulting Women Nobody came forward to do the sin But at last a Brahmin came .He was ready to do the sin because of his poverty. The king allowed the Brahmin to select one sin. After a long thought he decided to select drinking liquor, because he felt it better than the other two. The soldiers gave liquor bottles to the Brahmin. He started drinking liquor with tears. But after two glasses, he started drinking more and more without any hesitation. Within 10 to 15 minutes he started abusing Vedas and tried to catch a lady. Thus unknowingly he did the other two sins also. After some hours the Brahmin got sense and he started crying and begged for the King’s pardon. The King forgave him and gave him 100 gold coins, as the King understood the financial position of the Brahmin, which forced the Brahmin to do the sin. The King wanted to give one message to the people and so he conducted the competition. The message is that, we don’t have to do any sin considering its size. Sin is sin. We can’t classify it as good or bad, large or small etc. In this case one sin lead the Brahmin to many other sins. In such a way if we do any small sins considering its size it will lead us to many big sins. With Prayers Meera
