Dear all,Water is Datthathreya's fourth Guru. Water quenches the thirst of all living beings including plants. So water serves every thing on this earth with out expecting any thing in return. Even though water plays a very important role in sustaining the life on earth, it has a very humble nature and always flows down to lower places watering all the places on it's way. It then finally takes rest in the lowliest places. Ahamkaaram is unknown to water.

Water cleans everything that comes in contact with it and is a great purifier. So it is a synonym of purity. It is amazing to note that water is ever ready to take any other form to help Mother nature and her children. In winter months where the weather is cold, it takes the form of ice on the top of the body of waters. Under the ice, it remains as liquid protecting all the life forms living under water. Also when the weather is hot, it vaporizes and goes up to become clouds and then comes back to earth as showers when the earth needs the " Theertham " of rain. It is water's nature to go out of the way and help the universe and all inhabitants.

Water coming as rain is impartial. It rains every where.Datthathreya contemplated on the characteristics of water and learned the following lessons to contribute to His growing wisdom:1. Like water, a self realized soul should shower health, peace and joy to the whole world.

2. One should not be proud of the services he/she renders, and should be humble and also readily accessible to people of low status in the society. (water flows from higher regions to lower regions)3.Divine Self should be pure like water. Like a smaller body of water joins bigger bodies and becomes one body of water (rivers merge into ocean and becomes inseparable) matter and spirit are one.

4. One should try to be as impartial as water in showering love and kindness to everybody.Regards and prayerssavitri
