On behalf of the Board of Directors of HATCC, I want to thank you for your timely help and assistance to help our priest Mohan to go thru the surgery of his wife, Mrs. Lalitha for cancer. I want to bring this update of her status. The 6-hour surgery went off very well at the Harwad University Hospital in Boston on Tuesday May 20th. The doctor was very happy after the surgery and the cancer was fairly localized. She would not lose functions of any of her limbs as was feared originally. Her condition was very stable and the doctor adviced her to take food orally within the next two days. She was discharged from the hospital on Friday, the 23rd. Herself, Mohan and another friend stay in a hotel just 5 min from the hospital for follow up care. The next doctor's appointment is on Monday, the 28th and, if the doctor finds her condition satisfactory, he will let her come back to NJ on that day. Further course of therapy (radiation, chemo etc.) will be decided by the doctor on 28th. He suggested that they can be done in NJ itself. She would visit him every month for the next four months, and every two months from then on, and evrery six months to an year, later. I spoke to her last night and she is confident and sounded very fine. I take this opportunity to thank you all for the overwhelming support to help Mohan to deal with the situation mentally and financially. Your prayers and well wishes meant a lot to him and his family. The Google check out was timely which was set up quickly by a friend in Google and our web masters. HATCC management gave $20,000 immediately when he had to visit the doctor on the 16th. The public support exceeded $30K so far and the excess amount will be used towards the expenses going forward. The doctor's fee initially was $10K which included the 4-month visit also. The support from all of you is particularly noteworthy in the sense that the community is willing to come forward very spontaneously whenever such need arises. I am sure the grace of Lord Guruvayoorappan will be with all of your families always. Thanks again. Yegnasubramanian Chairman, HATCC.
