Sri Hanuman is the greatest Devotee of all times, He is the soul of Sri Raman.

Ullanghya Sindhoh Salilam Saleelam Yah Sokavahnim Janakaaymajaayaah/Aadhaaya Thenaiva Dadhaaha Lankaam Namaami Thum Praanjalir Anjaneyam//

In fact, Sri Raman praises him as " Nava VyaakaraNa Panditha"- master of ll the nine VyakaraNas. HanumAn is considered an ideal Guru - " HanumathSamena GuruNaa" And he is the Nominee for Brahmaji in next Yugam.

Before going to bed we should daily chant this sloka.

Meaning: - Oh, Alathiyoor Temple Hanuman, dont gives us bad dreamsif we are in the bad dreams please wake us up by beating your tail thatund will wake us up from the bad dreams, we are all in wordlybad dreams now need to get up from that dream, only Anajaneyan's blessingscan help!

when Shri Ramachandra and Lakshman arrived in search of Sita, did the two frst meet. (Valmiki Ramayana Kishkindha 1-4). Thus his life turned a new course.

Sri Raman asked him who he was. Gleaning his identity, Hanuman humbly replied,

"O Prabhu! From the body's point of view, I am your dasan (servant) and From the jiva's view, I am your bhakta." And in essence thereis no difference between You and Me"

The following SlOkam graphically depicts his multifaceted personality-his supersonic speed, his control of senses, his razor sharp wisdom,hispre-eminence among the simian battallion, his outstanding achievement asthe ideal emissary.

MANOJAVAM, MARUTA THULYA VEGAM: His Supersonic speed is evidenced in his flying over the seas to reach Lanka, across the land and mountains onhis reach to fetch Sanjeevani mountain.

JITEHENDRIYAM: His celibacy and control over senses is evidenced in histurning a blind eye to the womenfolk sleeping in voluptuous postures ashe strolled Ravana's harem in search of Sri Sita before he landed atAshOka Vanam.

BUDDHIMATHAAM VARISHTAM: His being the foremost among the intelligent isbest described in.Kambar's words- " SOLLIN SELVAN"- One possessed ofwealth in oratory - an expression which far surpasses honoroficslike 'silver tongued' and 'golden tongued' oratory (attributed to meremortals!). In fact, Sri Sita eulogises Hanuman as the only one endowedwith all the eight lakshanas of a Super-intelligent person

The eight lakshanas are as follows :1) Understanding what others say2) Remembering what has been thus understood3) Retrieving the information as and when required4) Explaining to others in an appropriate manner with choice use of words5) Inferring the viewpoints of others by intelligent guess6) Providing ready answers in reply to such viewpoints7) Understanding the inner and subtle meanings implied in such expressions8) Grasping the real interpretations of what is saidHanuman was a masterin all these lakshanas.

Hanumaan characterized himself as the dumbest, dullest of Sri Raaman'sentourage to let RaavaNan imagine that if such a one could wreak such amighty havoc, what could be expected when the smarter ones came uponLanka thus effectively instilling fear in the heart of RaavaNan

HANUMAN'S BRAHMACHARYAm

It is to be remembered that even though he is depicted as a simian knownfor its wayward behaviour, he was just the opposite of all these foiblesattributed to them. His Brahmacharyam was exemplary. If one meditates onhim, one would acquire this quality.

HANUMAN'S ENCOUNTER WITH BHIMAN

Once as requested by Draupadi, Bhiman set out to fetch a lotus flower. Onhis way, he went on uprooting trees. As he neared the Himalayas, there was Hanumaan resting and blocking his way. When asked to give way, Hanumaanmade him to lift his tail and go. Bhiman tried his best but could noteven move the tail. On learning that Hanumaan was his own elder brother (both being the sons of Windgod), Bhiman fell at his feet and sought hisblessings. Hanumaan blessed him and promised to help him in theKurukshetram war by being atop Arjunan's flag.

HANUMAN'S ENCOUNTER WITH ARJUNANOnce, Arjunan asked Hanumaan why Sri Raaman should have taken so muchefforts to build a bridge across the ocean putting the Vaanaras to lot ofstrain and boasted that if he were to be there, he would haveconstructed a bridge made of arrows which could bear the load of theentire world. This was inspite of Hanumaan's advice not to be so ego centered,Arjunan proceeded to demonstrate by building a bridge of arrows. But, itbroke unable to bear the weight of Hanumaan. Arjunan felt humbled and fellat Hanumaan's feet and begged to be excused.

SRI RAMAN'S GIFT TO HANUMANAt the time of Coronation, Sri Raaman wanted to gift something valuable toHanuman as a token of gratitude for all the help he had rendered. Butcould not find one as adequate recompense. So, he offered himself andembraced Hanumaan. Except for Sita, the only other person who had theblessings of an embrace of the Lord was Hanumaan. What greater object could he give than this?

 

 

HANUMAN - THE CHIRANJEEVIIt is said that when Sri Raama returned to Paramapada at the end of hisAvataar, he invited Hanumaan to accompany him. But, Hanumaan politelydeclined saying that he can neither give up the Sarira embraced by theLord, nor would he be able to witness the Lord in the form of Sri Raamain the Paramapada and preferred to stay back. Sri Raama blessed him withChiranjeevitvam - eternal life.

It is believed that Hanuman attends wherever Pravachanam of Srimad RaamaayaNam is delivered.For this purpose, even to this day, a special low wooden seat (Manai) is provided exclusively for Hanuman in the hall where Srimad RaamayaNa Pravachanam is delivered . Hanumaan is believed to listen the Pravachanam with folded hands and eyes filled with tears of joy.

There have been numerous instances of practical experiences in whichSINCERE prayers to Hanumaan have brought INSTANT relief even in the mosttrying situations. Let us understand that the emphasis is on the wordSINCERE- UNCONDITIONAL FAITH - not half hearted, disbelieving approach, andcertainly not as a challenge. Oh! Shri Hanumanji! You are the repository learning, virtuous, very wise and highly keen to do the work of Shri Ram.

You are intensely greedy for listening to the naration of Lord Ram's lifestory and revel on its enjoyment. You ever dwell in the hearts of Shri Ram-Sita and Shri Lakshman.

Sukshma roop Dhari Siyanhi Dikhawa, Bikat roop Dhari Lank Jarawa

You appeared before Sita in a diminutive form and spoke to her, while you assumed an awesome form and struck terror by setting Lanka on fire.

Bhim roop dhari asur sanhare, Ramchandrajee Ke kaaj Savare.

He, with his terrible form, killed demons in Lanka and performed all acts of Shri Ram.

Laye Sanjivan Lakhan Jiyaye, Shri Raghubir harashi ur laye.

Sanak and the sages, saints. Lord Brahma, the great hermits Narad and Goddess Saraswati along with Sheshnag the cosmic serpent, fail to sing the glories of Hanumanji exactly

What to talk of denizens of the earth like poets and scholars ones etc even Gods like Yamraj, Kuber, and Digpal fail to narrate Hanman's greatness in toto.

Hanumanji! You rendered a great service for Sugriva, It were you who united him with SHRI RAM and installed him on the Royal Throne.

Oh Hanumanji! all the difficult tasks in the world are rendered easiest by your grace.

Oh Hanumanji! You are the sentinel at the door of Ram's mercy mansion or His divine abode. No one may enter without your permission.

Sab Sukh Lahen Tumhari Sarna, Tum Rakshak Kaahu Ko Darnaa.

By your grace one can enjoy all happiness and one need not have any fear under your protection.

When you roar all the three worlds tremble and only you can control your might.
