Guest guest
Chaithanya Rath Yatra begins The Chaithanya Rath Yatra carrying the lamp lighted from Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple to the Sree Krishna temple at Ambalappuzha began from the East Nada of the temple here on Wednesday.Thanthri Chennas Dinesan Namboothiripad lighted the lamp before the statue of Lord Krishna kept in the specially designed chariot and handed over the chariot formally to Travancore devasom members P Narayanan and Sumathikutty Amma at East Nada. The restriction of entry by Guruvayur devawom and heavy rain in the morning has caused inconvenience for the Rath Yatra and around hundred devotees accompanying the charriot. The organisers of the Rath Yatra, "Vaisakha maasa ulsava sapthaha yanja samithi" chairman and CPI state council member C Radhakrishnan who is leading the Chaithanya Rath Yatra from here alleged that the Guruvayur Devaswom has given a verbal consent earlier and later it was cancelled owing to political reasons. Please note: Present Devasowm minister is afraid of Critisism by his party, so he avoided participating fearing the media. This yatra is been conducted as the reminder of old periods when fanatic Jihadi Tippu unleashed terror in Malabar. Following the route of his Father Hyder Ali who attacked Guruvayur in 1766, Tippu Sultan attacked Guruvayur temple in 1789. At that time Utsavavigraha was shifted to Ambalappuzha Sreekrishna SwamiTemple and Moolavigraha to a safe underground place. The Reinstallation of the Moolavigraha was conducted in 1792 after the victory of Zamorins over Tippu with the help of British. when a Jihadi Organisation projects Tippu Sultan as one of their Hero. It's high time that the new generation Hindus are told the true Story of this Jihadi Sultan that he is not a Hero but a Villain in our History. Though this yatra is conducted every year it gains more significance in the present scenario With Love & OM! Krishna Prasad
