Dear all,

Here is a response for the mass prayer movement of chanting Vishnu

Sahasranamam everyday during Sandhya time which is meant only for

prayer.

Hope we should emulate this kind lady who has initiate it in her place

in Hyderabad and following it rigorously.

Thanks and regards

time by watching horrid TV serials etc., and other wasteful activities.

(3) It is my personal experience that mass prayers do have a positive

effect, and can be organised, provided our people can get rid of their

ultra-religious casteism which divides society at large, and the Hindu

religion in particular, instead of uniting it. I feel one should

not discriminate by "caste", at least when question of God and devotion

comes, and when God Himself is impartial to all, irrespective of caste,

creed or religion.

So I suggested that mass prayer does not necessarily mean that

everybody should assemble at one place and chant together, which may be

difficult to organise, but let each person do it at his residence at

>the same time of Sandhya which is around 6.30 to 7 P.M., after

finishing their routine nitya-karmas like Sandhyavandanam, etc. I

suggested Vishnu Sahasranamam just because it is generally accepted by

all.

Then the question of people from other countries, eg. U.S etc

whose time does not match ours and hence have to do the chanting at

odd hours, etc., to synchronise with ours, came up. I suggested that

although such chanting does match the mass prayer movement "timewise",

it defeats the purpose of making use of the Sandhya time which is meant

only for prayer. So I suggested that let every person perform the

chanting during Sandhya time in their country, irrespective of whether

it matches with our time or not.

Although it would be good to respect the idea in letter and spirit, it

would be enough if we respect the idea in spirit rather than in letter,

and use the time for the welfare of the world which is reeling under

extreme pressure due to activities of bad people. This is the

background.

Thank u very much.

Should we all chant from 6.30 to 7pm everyday? Vishnu sahasranamam.

Isn't it? We are chanting some other slokas during that time. On

thursdays and saturdays we chant at this time visnu sahasranamam.

Anyhow we will try to chant at the same time on all days.

Thanks you

have started with chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamam, and I hope all of us

are chanting at ther same time. This is the spirit of the "Mass

Prayer" movement.

Hope you will join us in this bid to appeal to the Lord.
