Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya !!

The Upanishads teach us how to lead life in a way that will make our existence

worthwhile. In other words, they help us to direct our lives towards the

ultimate goal. In them one finds logical and acceptable explanations of the

three basic elements that matter to all of us, namely, human beings, God and the

world. The different systems of philosophy such as Advaita, Dvaita and

Visishtadvaita have exhaustively researched the matter of the Upanishads and

based on the scriptural authority, have tried to establish the inter

connectivity of the three elements.

It is established that the Supreme Being is the cause of the entire universe,

manifesting as diverse forms, shapes, etc. It is He who is responsible for its

sustenance and dissolution as well. Among the different worlds in the universe,

this world is the place from which salvation is possible; and to be born as a

human being with the inbuilt sixth sense (intellect), which facilitates one to

strive and find the means by which further births can be avoided is an

additional advantage that should not be squandered away, said Sri S. Ganesa

Sarma in a lecture. In this quest to probe the purpose of life, in addition to

each one’s personal experiences, valuable lessons can be learnt from the

experiences of others who have become enlightened with the knowledge of the

eternal truth. Our stay in this world is temporary and even our body is a

temporary lodge for the Atma. Our goal is to reach our moorings that is our

immortal state.

Truth of the Supreme Being cannot be explained by worldly knowledge but has to

be realised as an experience. God who is limitless and infinite cannot be known

by the human faculties that anyway fall short in trying to grapple with the

Supreme Power. Yet it is possible to develop a personal and intimate

relationship with the Lord through intense and unflinching devotion. This has

been illustrated by the manner in which child Prahlada was able to summon the

Lord because of his faith that transcended human intelligence. God incarnated as

Lord Narasimha to make true the words of His devotee Prahlada. Bhakti Bhava

enables the perception of the divine as an inner awareness..
