Guest guest
Dear all, Brahmachaarini The second aspect of Durga is Brahmacharini. Here the word Brahma stands for tapas. She has rosary in her right hand and kamandalu in her left hand. She is doing tapas to get Lord Shiva as her husband. She is a pesonification of love and devotion. This sacchidaananda brahmaswaroopam of durga is adorned by Rudraaksha maala. She is also known as Uma. As per Naarada's advice, Parvathi is doing severe penance to get Shiva as her husband. Some of the most important Vratas observed in different parts of India by women is based on the strict austerities followed by Brahmacharini. She is also known as Tapasyacharini. By praying to this form of Durga, sadhaka receives the power of discipline and enormous strength.
