Vashatkaarah Vashat is the indeclinable usually used at the end of a sentence in the sense of khathana , narration or exclamation. After having explained the all pervasive quality of the Lord by visvam and Vishnu the all pervasiveness vyaapthi is differentiated from the common sense of the term as in the case of akasa by this nama, vashatkara. It is from the root `vaS' to control. Not only He pervades all but they are also in His control `Sarvam vasam karothi ithi vashatkaarah.' `Sarvasya vaSo sarvasya eeSaanaH' says the Upanishad, He is the controller and ruler of all. And, `jagatvaSe varthathe idham krshnasya sacharaacharam ` the universe of sentient and insentient beings is under the control of the Krishna (which here means Narayana as can be seen in the explanation of the nama krishnaH later. Vashat is also a manthra used in offering oblations in the fire in a sacrifice and for japa and puja when it is used in doing anganyasa and karanyasa.
