Dear all,

Who is " Thaskaraanaam Pathi " or Lord of robbers? In his Narayanaeeya sapthaham discourse Shri Nochur Venkitaramanji told that Bhagavan is Lord of Thaskaraas or robbers.

Lord Krishna is the Lord of all devotees. Who are devotees? They are robbers who steal Bhagavan and hide Him in their heart. That is why He is called the Lord of Thaskaraas.

According to Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa bad thoughts are like thieves who steal away our good qualities and virtues. But if we steal Bhagavan and keep Him with us, other thieves like bad thoughts cannot rob us of anything.

When bad thoughts come to steal our good thoughts, Bhagavan warns us about the thieves' arrival. So we have to be listening carefully to the warning. When we ignore the warning by forgetting Him, He waits until we call Him and until then does not take the responsibility to protect us. This constant exercise of listening to Him brings us closer to Him and his nearness helps us to cross this samsaara saagaram filled with crocodiles and sharks in the form of miseries and misfortunes.

The sun is many times larger than the earth, but owing to the great distance it appears like a small disk. Likewise the Lord is infinitely great, but owing to our being too far from Him we fall , very short of comprehending His real greatness.

Regards and prayers

Savitri
