Tomorrow here is Govardhana Puja day, a wonderful day when temples use to make hills of halava, when we listen to the pastimes of the Lord giving pleasure to the inhabitants of Vrndavana. Today I had tears in my eyes when reading about this beautiful pastime. In this lecture what called my attention was the mood of Indra, who was very angry when he was not worshiped the right way and wanted to kill all the people in that place. If we bring this situation to our chanting, we can see that sometimes we want things to be working in our way, not others, and what to say of the Lord's wish, when things in our lives are out of our control we panic, we don't understand and we have the difficulty to surrender. This mood affects our chanting and the only way to change this is by calling up for help, like Indra did, he asked a devotee, Surabhi mother to help him with Krsna so he could be forgiven, only then the Lord could notice him.

Just like us, our material desires, our lack of knowledge can't reach the Lord's heart, but our surrendering to a pure devotee, pleasing the vaisnavas, Srila Prabhupada, our spiritual master, reaches the Lord's heart and attention, He likes to see us serving each other and pleasing His devotees. So we can be free from offenses, because the vaisnavas are so merciful that they, with their patience, teach us how to serve, how to be humble and how to avoid offenses at the feet of others. Maybe on this Holy Day we may think if we are acting like Indra did trying to control the situation and making his wish work even being against the Lord, or realising we may have something to change in ourselves and beg for the pure devotees to introduce our fallen souls to Krsna and help us to become noticed by the Lord's eyes. So our chanting will be effective and devoted to the Lord.

Hare Krsna-- A pure devotee of the Lord is someone who lives for the welfare of all others. He is always the most compassionate care giver dispensing the supreme medicine of Krishna consciousness for delivering the suffering souls of this age from their misery. There is nothing that compares to the compassion of the pure devotee. He is willing to take birth and birth to save those who are entangled in karma chakra, the wheel of birth and death. Because he has so fully dedicated himself to the deliverance of all others there is no one more dear to Krishna than he. Nor will there ever be anyone more dear. This is confirmed by Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita (18:68-69). If we are somehow or other fortunate to come into the contact of a such an exalted soul we should take full advantage of his mercy by humbly bowing down at his lotus feet and taking all instructions from him regarding we can be fully absorbed in the pure devotional service of Lord Sri Krishna.

Chant:Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare HareHare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare
