As spiritual souls, parts and parcels of the Supreme we are by nature eternal and blissful but because we are illusioned by this temporary body and situation we are in, we forget our constitutional position and sometimes, as any other living entity, we look for a position in this material world which is temporary. We invest a lot of our time and energy to work for the body and to mantain it. Even our family and friends will go away one day because they are temporary. Why don't we invest more in our soul, our spiritual lives, in our eternal purpose, as eternal servants of the Supreme Soul?

The process to realize this eternal relationship is through chanting...this is our key to the spiritual world. Through Japa and kirtan we can experiment with the medicine for this age of Kali. The basic principle of bhakti or regulated devotional service is to always remember Krsna and never forget Him....and by chanting we are always engaged on this remembrance.

It's said that just by chanting the Holy Names once, one can be freed from commiting more sins than one is able to commit but this also depends on good chanting. It depends on a small effort of concentration and being aware that this system of bhakti yoga is so powerful that we may make the proper investiment so we can receive an eternal gift, not temporary, but eternal.

We can really make a good use of this temporary life, body and properties given by Krsna to invest on spiritual gains. How much of our time do we really invest on the Lord? Do we give it to Him or we just do to be glorified? Do we have the right mood of thinking that everything belongs to Him, our bodies, " not ours " , the family, the car, the house, the temple, everything we state as " ours " we may think we are using it in the Lord's service because he wanted and let us to do it, otherwise He may take it anytime he wishes. I am sure we all have experienced a time when we thought we could manage to solve a problem or do something by ourselves and didn't work the way we wanted, why? Because the Lord is the controller, even when we don't perceive or forget, He is there, controllling what already belongs to Him.

So we got a great gift from Lord Chaitanya which is this chanting of the Holy names and if we chant it in a seriouss way thinking we are not the owners but the servants we may relish very soon a great relationship with the Supreme and feel bliss as an eternal servant of the Lord.

I really wish we all perceive through chanting that we are here in this material world to reconnect with the Lord and He wants us there more than we can imagine, we just need to take steps towards Him.

-- A pure devotee of the Lord is someone who lives for the welfare of all others. He is always the most compassionate care giver dispensing the supreme medicine of Krishna consciousness for delivering the suffering souls of this age from their misery. There is nothing that compares to the compassion of the pure devotee. He is willing to take birth and birth to save those who are entangled in karma chakra, the wheel of birth and death. Because he has so fully dedicated himself to the deliverance of all others there is no one more dear to Krishna than he. Nor will there ever be anyone more dear. This is confirmed by Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita (18:68-69). If we are somehow or other fortunate to come into the contact of a such an exalted soul we should take full advantage of his mercy by humbly bowing down at his lotus feet and taking all instructions from him regarding we can be fully absorbed in the pure devotional service of Lord Sri Krishna.

Chant:Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare HareHare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare
