Krishna called to wear flowers and to be protected from evil

Yasodha calls Krishna to come and be decked with flowers. He is drinking the milk from the pot and those who do not have love for him ridicule him for it without knowing that he is the elixir of all and more delicious than honey for those who are his devotees. Yasodha tells him not to roam around in the forest tending the cattle and emaciate his body of dark complexion, but to come and be decorated with shanbaga flowers.

Azvar as Yasdha says that he was born to save all the seven worlds and the consort of Lakshmi. He has dark hue like the rain-bearing clouds and he was none other than the one who is reclining on the Sesha in Srirangam. He is called to come and wear jasmine flowers.

Krishna is known to go to the houses of gopis and tease them tearing their clothes when they did not give him what he wanted.. Yet he is not a naughty boy as they think but the one who is residing on the top of Thirumala hills. Yasodha calls him to come and be decked with marikkolundu and paadhiri flowers and not go to he street and give trouble to the gopis.

Azvar as Yasodha feels remorse for having beaten Krishna when he swallowed butter. He says ," knowing that you are the one who broke the tusk of the elephant kuvalayapeeta, tore open the beaks of bakasura and cut off the nose and ears of Surpanakha, fought with the wrestlers of Kamsa and killed them and him, tamed seven wild bulls, I have beat you without fear and feel sorry now. You forgive all that and come and accept these sengazuneer and kurukkatthi flowers."

Azvar wonders at the various abodes of Krishna. He is in Vaikunta surrounded by the devas. He lives in the hearts of His devotees. He lies on a banyan leaf after devouring all the worlds and He comes down and resides in Srirangam and Thirumala. He is also the consort of Lakshmi who has the lotus as her abode.

Thus in the decade, Nammazvar in the role of Yasodha calls Krishna with all the flowers ready to adorn him, bringing out the glory of the Lord as Krishna.

Yasodha then wants to ward off evil and calls Krihna to do the necessary auspicious protection ritual (kaappu)

It is evening and Krishna is standing at the cross roads which is not auspicious. Yasodha calls him to do mangalasasana for him saying that the devas preceded by Indra, Brahma and Rudra are all a standing unseen ready to chant manthras to bless him. Azvar refers to Krishna as the one who is standing in ThiruveLlarai, one of the divyadesams.

Yasodha says that the cows are wailing as it is milking time and she had to go and calls Krishna to come quick. Perhaps he was afraid that she will punish him because he destroyed the sand castles built by the gopa maidens who came and complained. She says that she will not do anything and was calling him only to do the auspicious protection.

They are all accusing Krishna of all the misdeeds done by others , Yasodha says, and that he should be protected not only from the evil eye of the people of Gokula but also from the evildoers sent by Kamsa.

Yasodha further says that even though Krishna looks like an ordinary cowherd boy, his doings are all superhuman like killing the demons like Poothana. And hence others may cast evil eye on him out of envy. Further the place Krishna was playing was that inhabited by evil deities. The learned Brahmins have come to say protective hymns to him like purushasuktha and Yasodha was having the lamp ready to do the raksha for him. So she calls him to come and get the protective raksha bandhan done.

Azvar ends the decade by saying that those who read these will be protected from all evil.
