He can be seen even by the born-blind through devotion like Surdas because He is atheendhriyaH, transcends the cognition by the senses 194. dhamanaH kaanthi mandhaakinee Samayitha bhavathaapaH. The one who quenches the heat of the samsara by His splendour which flows like the flood of Ganges to His devotees. dhamayathi ithi dhamanah- The controller mrthyuroopENa hamayathi ithi vaa- The one who punishes in the form of Yama. Dhandodhamayathaam asmi-BG-ch.10 I am the principle of punishment of those who punish. 195.HamsaH hamsaH so aham ;so aham hamsaH: `I am He ` or `that thou art.,' refers to brahmasvarupa. Lord Narayana is `I' because He is the inner soul. Hamsa stands for SudDhasatthva , the paramahamsa svarupa of the Lord, in which form he appeared to Brahma and sanakaadhi. The word Hamsa is also derived as hanthaa- mover, manoharam hanthi , gacChathi ithi hamsaH. One with enchanting gait, which could be the meaning of the word hamsa referring to the swan also. 196.suparNaH SobhnaH parNaH yasya sah, one with beautiful wings, meaning Garuda, who is supposed to be identical wth the Lord. Desika says in Garudapanchaasath, svaarThaabhirooDaH bahiH abahiH abhivyakthim abhyethi, Garuda, who is vedasvarupa shine inside and outside by himself and the Lord who is on him. Garuda is said to be the Sankarshan amsa of the Lord. Paaram nayathi ithi parNaH, one who takes us across. The Lord is taking the devotees across the samsara, samsaarapaaranayanaath suparNah. The word suparNa has vedic significance also. `dhvaa suparNaa sayujaa sakhaayaa samaanam vrksham parishasvajaathe; thayoh anyaH pippalan svaadhu atthi anaSnan anyaH parichaakaSeethi.' `Two birds born togther and live together occuy the same tree. Of the two, one eats the fruits sour and sweet and the other looks on without eating. The two birds referrd to as suparNaa are the jeevathma and paramathma. The former experiences the fruits of karma, both sour and sweet from the tree tof samsara. The Lord is the witness, unaffected . Hence the Lord is named suparNa. 197.bhujagotthamaH bhujaga means serpent and it is derived as bhujena gacChathi, moves by shoulders as it has no legs. Bhujena also means koutilyena gacchathi,, by crooked movement as the serpant moves in a crooked manner. Bhujagaanaam utthamaH bhujagotthamaH, refers to Adhisesha or Sankarhana, the first manifestation of the Paravasudeva in vyha form. 198.hiraNyanaabhah Hiranya means gold as well as beauty. HiraNyanabha means the one with beautiful navel sporting a golden lotus. The word hiranyam is derived as hitham cha thath ramaneeyam cha, that which is beneficial and beautiful. Naabhi means the centre of a chakra, which could be taken as the wheel of time. Hiranyanaabhah is the one who is the centre of all movement caused by the wheel of time, the word hiranya meaning the beautiful ,signifying the form of the Lord. 199suthapaaH Supreme thapas or supreme knowledge. The Lord possesses supreme knowledge.Also He dose penance in Badhari as Nara and Naryamna evn now. So this has reference to the NaraNarayanaroopa. 200.padhmanaabhaH padhma means jnanam besides meaning lotus. Padhyathe, jnaayathe, anena ithi.
