Guest guest
Dear all, This is a continuation of the stories about Raamadaasji. After a few years, Govanna got married and got a son. That son died in an accident. He fell into " Kanji " or hot water drained from the cooked rice and got severe burns. He fainted and was unconscious remaining at the verge of death. They tried everything to save him and finally the heart broken Govanna took the child to the temple of Lord Raama. He offered the boy at Lord Raama's feet and started chanting Raama naamam. After some time, his son got up and walked towards him and he was cured of his burns in a few weeks. Even though Lord Raama indirectly helped Govanna, he never got a darshan of Lord Raama in person. He was really craving for the darshan and he remembered Kabirdasji. Immediatley Kabirji appeared and told him that his mind was still not matured or ready to have the darshan of Lord as Himself. Govanna begged Kabirji to make it possible and Kabirji said: " Ok, tomorrow God will visit you at your house in the morning. Please be ready to receive HIm. " He did not specify in which form God will appear. Govanna was excited and started cleaning the whole house and decorating the best way he could. Mango leaves were hung at the entrance and a nice mandapam was built for the Lord to sit. Whole place was decorated with flowers and his wife made all delicious food for the Lord. They opened the front door and waited for Lord Raama. At the expected time of Lord's arrival, a huge and dirty buffalo came running inside the house through the front door and stepped on the mandapam. Govanna was very angry to see the dirty buffalo climbing on the mandapam set up for carefully for his Lord and he beat the buffalo left and right with a big stick. Poor buffalo was wriggling with pain and ran outside and disappeared. Govanna was so sad that even hours after the expected time, Lord did not appear. So he remembered Kabirji and Kabirji appeared and told him: " I told you that it is not yet time for you to see Lord in his divine form. Since you insisted that you wanted to see Him, He came in the form of a buffalo and you just beat Him and scared Him away. Now you have to wait with more chanting of Naamam and He will give you darshan " Govanna understood his immaturity in not seeing Raama in everything in the world and he continued his chanting. After wards he had darshan of Lord Raama several times. Next story is about the rebuilding of the temple by Govanna.
