Namasthe- Jaganniyantha, Jeevan and Jagat

Dear all,

 

 

Nature of Jaganiiyantha or God is existence-knowledge-bliss or sat-chit-anandam

 

 

Nature of Jeevan is dependent. It is the one with no nature of it's own. It acquires the nature of what is close to it.

 

Nature of Jagat or world is jadam or dead (Anruthajadaswaroopam).

 

Imagine all the three in one line and note that Jeevan is in the middle and can move in either direction.

 

 

So when Jeevan moves closer to worldly life and gets immersed in the material universe, it acquires the nature of the material Universe which is not real and live (anruthajadaswaroopam). Universe is unreal and Jeevan starts believing in the unreal and starts living in the unreal subjecting oneself to all the sorrows and transient pleasures. Jeevans of most of the ordinary people like us have acquired this nature of material world.

 

Now what scriptures advise is to move in the other direction towards God for a peaceful life.

 

 

When Jeevan moves towards God it slowly acquires the nature of Sat-chit-ananda swaroopam. Since Jeevan does not have a nature of it's own, it exhibits the qualities of the nature of it's relative or bandhu whom it is close to. When Jeevan makes God a close relative or bandhu by satsangam and naamasankeerthanam, it acquires all the qualities of sajjanaas and moves forward in the path of Bhakthi or Jnaanam. Even though Jeevan is aware of the unreal world and suffers the sorrows, enjoys the transient pleasures of material world, rotates on the wheel of time, nearness of Bhagavan protects them from falling altogether into the danger infested ocean of material world.

 

 

The sloka below says how devotees holding on to Bhagavan's feet are protected from the dangers of the world or samsaaram like whole grains near the handle of a grinding stone. They stay as whole grains with out getting split, in spite of suffering the big noise and commotion of the grinder.

 

 

Bhavadukha kharattena pishyanthe sarvamaanavaa:

dukha muktha sadaananda: Krishna bhaktho hi kaevala:

 

Maanavas are ground in the grinding stone known as the samsaaram or world. But those who stay near Madhava who is controlling the grinding stone using it's handle remain free of the severe sorrows and enjoys the bliss of his nearness even in sorrow.
