Guest guest
Dear Gurudevs, I want to share an important information to all Gurudevs. It is about the Bhaktha Ranjini commentary of Naaraayaneeyam. I should say that I am really blessed to read both the commentary of Naaraayneeyam in Malayalm and the English version of the Malayalm commentary. Original Mlayalam commentary was done by late Shri K.V Vancheswara Sastri and late Shri Vishwanatha Sastri. Our respected K.V. Gopalakrishnaji (son of the original author Shri Vancheswara sastri) along with three others did the English translation of the Malyalam commentary and it was edited by our respected S.N. Sastriji. Gurudevs, I am really unable to express how great the work is. (Actually I am not only unable to express, I am " apaathram " to express because the level of Bhakthi expressed in this great work is far beyond my level.) Even with my limited knowledge I can say that both the versions are excellent for any devotee at any level. Since my mother tongue is Malayalam, I enjoy, understand and internalize better when I read in Malayalam. But KVGji's English version has done full justice to the Malayalam version. The first edition is completely sold out and as I understand, the next edition is in print. I am sure KVGji will let us know when it comes out. At that time, all of us who would like to get a copy can write to him and ask him about the ordering details. I myself would like to get few more copies for our children and to give as a gift to other devotees. I will request KvGji to give us the details of how to order and the price and whether we will qualify for any discount if we get from him. Vanamaala iinterpretation is excellent. But this interpretation is much more elaborate and simple. Most of the connected stories are beautifully described. There are many explanations with pictures or symbols. For example there is a chart showing the " Evolution of the five elements and the senses of perception. " This makes the concept given in the fifth chapter so clear. This is just an example. The reason I want to share this information with all Gurudevs is simple. If we do not get enough copies now, it may be sold out in no time. I am not sure whether they will print more copies. Please buy a few extra sets to give it as gift to your parents or grandparents or aunts who will cherish it. I can assure you that it will be the best gift for a devotee which he can open again and again until he reaches the stage of " Agre pashyami " . Respected KVGji, I took the freedom to share my experience with the Baktha Ranjini Commentary with all Gurudevs. Please let us know when the new edition will come out and how we should order and the details of the price etc. Regards an dprayers Savitri
Guest guest
Respected Savitriji and other Gurudevs, Radhe Krishna! Even more than being a great service to Lord Guruvayoorappan and the Bhaktas of Lord Guruvayoorappan, the Gurudevs [Guru(vayoorappan)dev(otee)s], of this group, respected Savitriji's note has come as a great tribute to the great two masters who have authored this scholarly Malayalam commentary, and the humble attempt of the four authors of the English version, edited by no lesser a person than our respected S.N. Sastriji, without whose kind and voluntary acceptance of the editorship, the work could not have seen the light of day. We can truthfully say that it is an attempt at "Nishkama Karma" on the part of all five of us, particularly Sastriji who is an octogenarian, and the other four of us who will shortly reach that age bracket, and have, by sheer divine intervention, got involved in this monumental work. I feel proud and happy to say that "The Bhaktaranjini Trust" , a charitable Trust, formed by us and aptly named for promoting Bhakti, is purely a brain-child of the Lord, in the form of a command given to me after my failing in my endeavours to market the book through publishers at a reasonable price affordable by all. Everything happens, as willed by Him. It is, at the same time, totally aimed at philanthropic causes. I take it as a divine command and entreat all Gurudevs to give me moral support to face this challenge. By the divine grace of the Lord, the revised second edition is shortly expected to be in the press. To be frank, my group activities and contributions to our dear on-line magazine "NAVANEETHAM" have almost been reduced to "nil" on this account. As it is proposed to print only limited number of copies owing to many constraints, it is my earnest request to all Gurudevs to reserve their copies by registering their names and other details. The pricing details, transportation costs, etc., will be notified in the web-site, www.narayaneeyam.com as soon as the details are worked out. In the meantime, those Gurudevs who have not accessed the website are humbly requested to read the commentaries of four dasakams of Narayaneeyam put up at the website. Regards K.V.
