The crow can not see in the night. The ignorant who lacks knowledge does not see both in the day and in the night. Without learning one does not get the right perception. Hence he is said to be blind during both day and night. 14. roopaypvanasampannaaH viSaalakulasambhavaaH vidhyaaheenaa na Sobhanthe nirganDhaaiva kimSukaaH Those without learning do not shine even if they are endowed with good personality and youth and are born in a big family like the kimsuka flower which is of golden colour, born of a large tree and fresh does not please because it is devoid of fragrance. The youth and beauty and the birth in an illustrious family are of no consequence if a person lacks knowledge becas4u he lose respect the moment he opens his mouth. Hence the best wealth the parents could give their children is education which makes them not only able to maintain ewhat they have but also enables them to acquire more. But in modern days the very education is looked upon as a ticket to earn money and not as a means of bettering oneself. That kind of learning is not education because mere degree holding is not an index of knowledge. Knowledge is the best wealth which idea is brought out by the following two slokas We shall see about it in the subsequent slokas.
