Guest guest
Om Namo Narayanaya Shri Achuthan Nair could be right. Shree Bhattathri narrates in HIS Narayaneeyam to support this statement Two days back, when I completed Dasakam 16 about Daksha, explained and narrated by Shri Venmani Krishnan Namburi and his wife Radha Namburi, (thanks to Dr. Sreedevi Menon for the mp3 discs), Bhattathiri says, after the killings Shiva was honored when HE gave life back to all including Daksha by replacing his head with that of a goat. A mutual respect followed between Shiva and Vishnu and peace prevailed all over the world. Later in Dasakam 19, Prthus' Great Grand children Prachethas went westwards and stayed where they found the Rudra Theertham (which is the pond near the present Guruvayoor temple) and served Lord Shiva who was meditating there. Here Lord Shiva gave them message of Rudra geetham which is blessings to all. When Guru and Vayu located this place to instal the Moorthy (Vigraha) that belonged to Dwaraka where Krishna himself worshiped, Shiva voluntarily moved for the present Guruvayoorappan temple. Hence the devotees should pay their respect by praying both at Mammiyur and Guruvayur. This is my understanding. Om Namo Narayanaya Chandrasekharan . chirattapuram <anair1101guruvayur Sent: Sunday, March 1, 2009 10:13:51 PM[Guruvayur] Mammiyoor There should be no reason to cook up stories because Hindus believe Brahma, Vishnu and Siva are the three aspects of the Divine. Togetger known as the Trimurthi. Siva and Vishnu (or Krishna ) had a cooperative existence as Hari (Vishnu ) and Hara ( Siva) and thus, Hari-Hara, also known as Hari-Rudra as mentiontied in Mahabharata. One should also remember that when Guru and Vayu chose the present Guruvayoor as the auspecious place to install the anjana vigraha it was Siva and Parvati who moved away from the Theerthakulam to make way for the installtion process. Siva was at that time in deep meditation but he moved a little to the north because of mutual respect. Then there are two groups of devotees, the Shivates and Vaishnavites.individual opinions of these two groups may differ slightly and there is always a third, with their own interpretations.Achuthan Nairjai shree krishna ! guruvayur@grou ps.com, Krishnamoorthi Venkatraman <krishnamoorthi. venkatraman@ ...> wrote:>> it is said, one should visit mammiyur before going to guruvayur> a few say otherwise first guruvayur then mammiyur i have also come accross a few bhaktha clearly telling that no such rules.it is cooked up stories trying to equate siva with narayana please guide me> krishnamoorthi>
