I had the most disappointing experience of my life. After standing in line for three and a quarter hours, when I almost reached the gate the Ambalam closed for Ucha puja and the guard at the gate told me that it wont be for another hour that he could let people in. I had to leave the line and go in just in to the outside of the Sree Kovil and do my prarthanas , with the SreeKovil closed, and come away as it was time for me to be somewhere else. I learned my lesson that if one is going to Guruvayoor one should not make any other plans to do anything else. That is Unnikrishnans mayavilasam. Next time, if Bhagavan lets me have a next time, I know what to do. I was very upset and crying but my daughter consoled me saying that this also may mean that Bhagavan is saying to you that one does not have to go to Guruvayoor to pray, one can do it at home and see him in our mind's eyes all the time. That I do anyway. I dont know what those thousands of people did who were behind me in line. I do hope that all of them got Darashanam eventually. There were people of all ages waiting hours on end in the terrible heat. The least the Devaswam could provide was a few more fans and a couple of more places where they gave out drinking water. may be some day the conditions and the system will be better and one will be able to have a satisfying trip to see our beloved Balagopalan. I am so looking forward to coming back to Kerala next year and go back to do my pilgrimage to Guruvayoor and be satisfied. Krishnna !! Guruvayoorappa !!
