Eight-day Bhagvatham Saptha starts May 6, 2009 The eight-day annual Bhavatham Saptha will be held at the Puthur Shiva Temple in Perintalmanna from May 6, 2009. There will be discourses, dramas, and chanting in praise of Lord Vishnu. Prasadam will be distributed daily. It is said participating in the Saptha will fill us with love and devotion, take us closer towards God, and ultimately free us from this cycle of birth and death. ______ 2. Om Namah Shivaya Koti Nama Japam A koti nama japam of the mantra, Om Namah Shivaya, is presently underway at http://omnamahshivayakotinamajapam.blogspot.com/. Our group is very fortunate to have a village/temple elder guiding us. The Elder said that, " if you are facing a challenging situation in life, japam will help you get out of it or atleast help you face it with equanimity until the mantra cleans out the karma. " The village/temple elder said, " When you feel everything is going against you, that is when you should surrender completely to the Lord and the situation will pass. " To join the japam, please email puthurshiva. ______ 2. 101-Kodum Dhara to be performed daily for Japam participants In response to requests from Hindu devotees from around the world, the 101 Kodum (pot) Dhara (pouring of sanctified waters on the Shiva Lingam) will be performed daily at the 1,500-year old Puthur Shiva Temple in Perintalmanna, Kerala, for japam participants. It is said that the Dhara will cool the Shivalingam and bless participants with peace of mind, job security, good health, and find suitable partners for those who want to be married. In short, the Dhara will bring Aiswarya or prosperity to devotees so that they can lead a peaceful and contented houshold life. ______ 3. Puthur Shiva's Miracle Puthur Shiva has done many miracles for devotees. One of them is that he has reached out through cyber space to Australia, Canada, UK, USA, Bahrain, Kuwait, Malaysia, Norway, and all over India to the children and grandchildren of people who used to pray at the Puthur Shiva Temple in Perintalmanna, and brought them together to do japam in cyberspace. We realized this only a few days ago. What a miracle! Only Lord Shiva could do this!!! In a couple of cases, where there was no known connection between ancestors and the Puthur Temple, the email invitation for the japam arrived at the exact moment when the two families were going through extreme hardship. Joining the japam has brought them peace of mind and some respite from their problems. It is proof that Lord Shiva and Parvati are looking out for us!!! ______ 4.
