Dear all,

When Vasishta knew about the death of all his sons, he was very sad and set out from the hermitage for meditation. His noble mind did not think of retaliation, but found peace in prayer and meditation. While he was in the forest, Shakthi's pregnant wife Adrushyanthi came to him seeking comfort and protection. Vasishta's kindness and love knew no bounds. He took her to the hermitage and comforted her with wise words and great stories of devotees.

In course of time, Adrushyanthi gave birth to a son. Vasishta named him Parashara. One day Vasishta along with Adrushyanthi and Parashara went to the forest to collect some wood. Suddenly a demon appeared from nowhere and Adrushyanthi was scared to death. With his divine eyes, or divya drushti Vasishta knew that it was demon-turned king Kalamashapada who killed his son Shakthi. So he took some water from his water pot or kamandalu, uttered some powerful vedamanthras and sprinkled the holy water on the demon. Immediately demon turned back into King Kalmashapada and begged for Vasishta's forgiveness.

Vasishta said: Dear King, now go back to your kingdom and take care of all your people. You were immensely proud of your wealth and power and lack of humility led you to all the suffering. Learn from your mistake, forget about what had happened and live a righteous life. If you follow dharmam, then dharmam will protect you. Dharmo rakshathi rakshitha:

King Kalmashapada prostrated at Kulapathi Vasishta's feet and accepted him as his Guru.

Gurubhyo nama:

Regards and prayers
