Guest guest
Dear all, Garga Muni was the Guru of Andhakas and Vrushnis. He was the great Garga muni who secretly did the naamakaranam of Bhagavan and Lord Balarama. He was a bachelor and his brother-in-law once ridiculed him in the royal court of Yaadavaas saying that he was impotent . All the people laughed. He was deeply hurt and this hurt turned into anger and hatred towards the Yadavas. He went to the forest and did arduous penance to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva was pleased and blessed him to have a son with enough power to terrorize the Yadavas. Boon also assured that this offspring would not be killed by Yadavas. Garga became a close friend of the childless King of Yavanaas who was serving him while he was doing penance. With his yogic power, Garga gave a child to the childless Yavana couple. The child born to the Yavana woman was as black (kaala means black and he was the son of a Yavana) as a blackbee or beetle and hence was named Kaalayavana. Kaalayavana became a young man and King of Yavanaas crowned him as the new king and retired to the forest. Kaalyavana was very powerful and knew that he would not be killed by Yadavaas. Kaalyavana requested Narada to suggest the most brave and powerful people on earth so that he could fight with them to prove his strength. Narada said Yadavas were the most powerful. (Narada always directs dushtaas or evil people to Lord Krishna. Remember he directed Hiranyaksha also exactly the same way. It is interesting to note that Narada directs good people also to Bhagavan. His only aim is to direct people, good or bad to Bhagavan). Then Kaalayavana said : " I want to defeat them and want to prove to the world that the mighty Yadava heroes are like helpless ants and flies in front of me. " He invited all the evil minded, powerful people in his Yavana clan and advanced towards the Yaadava kingdom. When Krishna knew that Kaalayavana was approaching Mathura, he wanted to get rid of him in a non-traditional way. He knew about the boon Shiva gave to Garga. It was a bad time for Yaadavaas because just behind Kaalayavana, Jaraasandha also was planning to advance towards Mathura for the 18th time. In this predicament, Krishna decided to build Dwaraka far away from Mathura and requested Vishwakarma to help him build the palace. When the palace was ready, with his yogic power he transferred all the Yadavaas there. When Kaalyavana attacked, Krishna just came out of Mathura palace by himself and Kaalayavana chased him. He acted as if he was afraid of him and started walking in front of Kaalayavana with out giving him a chance to catch him. Every minute he thought he would catch Krishna but he would just be missed. They travelled a long distance like that, one behind the other. Kaalayavana did not realise Bhagavan's real nature of " yad durlabhaM yad aprApyaM manasoyann agocaram " meaning " that which is rare, unattainable and that which mind cannot even perceive " . Krishna played this game for some time and suddenly went inside a huge cave. Kaalayavana followed him and there he saw a man sleeping inside the cave. Thinking that it was Krishna who was lying there Kaalyavana kicked him hard. That was King Muchukunda sleeping after the long war between Devaas and Asuraas and he was disturbed from his sleep. He looked angrily at Kaalyavana and because of the power of his boon, Kaalayavan was instantly burnt to ashes. Krishna appeared in front of Muchukunda and offered him that he would give any boon he desired. Muchukunda did not want anything other than pure bhakthi towards Lord Krishna. Krishna blessed him and came out to meet the next familiar attacker Jarasandha. Regards and prayers savitri
