Guest guest
Hari Om ! Temple is a place where neatness has to be strictly maintained. As such, women should not go to temple during their monthly periods. Even people should not actually go to temple, when we have not taken bath. It is applicable for both men and women. 2009/5/30 anandm8 <anandm8 dear devotees, in south India and especially in Kerala, women do not go to temples if they are having their periods. Guest guest
Krishna, Guruvayoorappa ! Dear Bhaktas, Bhaktas going to the Temple must ensure *AchAra-sudhi* ( purity of traditional practices) in order to avoid desecration of the temple . Kerala is known as God's own country ( Parashurama Kshetram) because it was created by Bhagavan Parashurama who has personally established *Kshetra-AchArams* to ensure the purity of temples therein . These rules are stricter than in other places . In Guruvayoor, Bhagavan Himself has arranged through Rishis like Sri Shankaracharya , specifications of *Kshetra-Acharams* . It is the duty of Bhaktas to comply with the codes and conduct applicable to them . Any failure to do so is suicidal for themselves and others as well . Some of the important rules are given below : Women having "Menstruation" should not enter the temple before (7) days. Any Person having "Valayma" ( ineligibility due to delivery by any close maternal relative) should enter the temple only 10 days after the delivery. Any Person having "Pula" ( ineligibility due to death of a close maternal relative) should enter the temple only 16 days after the date of death. Bhaktas should take bath and wear clean cloths before entering the temple. Specified dress code must be followed . The entire temple premises including the steps to the temple are most divine . Therefore, utmost reverence must be given to every element of the temple . Bhaktas visiting the temple must be aware that he/she is going to enter the premises of a Yogeshavara in deep penance . And therefore strict compliance of the prescribed *Kshetra-AchArams* is mandatory to all . Traditionally , the above information is passed by Hindu-elders to their children . Non-Hindus are ignorant about it . During the recently held *Ashtamangala Devaprasnam* , Guruvayoorappan has reconfirmed that only Hindus having full faith in Deity worship and willingness to comply with *Kshetra-Acharams* should be allowed to enter His temple . Om Namo Narayanaya !!!! Krishnadayaguruvayur , Jayasree Menon <euroanuster wrote:>> Hari Om !> > Temple is a place where neatness has to be strictly maintained.
