526.ajaH

 

One who is signified by the letter `a'

praNavaprakrthibhootha akaara vaachyathayaa jaathaH.

 

In Bhagavt gita the Lord says aksharaaNaam akaaro asmi. I am the akara of the letters, meaning that He is the origin of all.

 

AjaH also means na jaayathe ithi –One who is not born

 

Kshipathi iti ajaH- He throws away, removes, the obstacles.

 

527. mahaarhaH

 

Since He is praNavasvaroopa He desves worship. poojanam arhathi ithi.

 

528. svaabhaavyaH

 

svaiH –by all souls who belong to Him, bhaavyathe- He is worshipped.

 

svaabhaavikena bhaavyathvaath- He is worthy of worship by His nature.

 

529. jithaamithraH

 

Conquers those against Him. Also makes His devotees conquer their inner enemies, kaama krdha , desire anger etc.

 

530. pramodhanaH

 

He gives abundant joy, prakrshtam modham.

 

From 531to 541 the namas refer to kapilavathara.

 

531.aanandhaH

 

aanandham means brahmanandham here. Kapila was eh incarnation of the Lord who was born to Kardhmarshi and Devahuthi as He promised to Kardhama when he did penance. He was the preacher of ssnkhya thathva and known as saankhyaacharya. Suddhaatma thatthva vijnaanam saankhay ithi abhiDheeyathe, meaning brahamajnana. The meaning of aanandha can also be explained as aasamanthaath nandhanam , one who delights all around.

 

532. nandhanaH

 

nandham dhadhaathi ithi nandhanaH- On who gives bliss

 

533. nandhaH

 

One who is nandha, bliss itself.

 

534. sathyaDharmaa

 

sathyaadhayaH dharmaaH asya ithi- His dharmas like priotecting the good , praithraaNaaya saaDhoonaam, and SaraNagatha rakshaaNam, gib ving refuge to those resort to Hima are His true Dharmas.

 

535. thrivikramaH

 

The name ormally refers to the Thrivikramavathra in which the Lord measured the three worlds. But here with referebce to kapila it means the one who has pervaded the three Vedas or the one who has transcended the three states of waking, ream and deepsleep and has reached the fourth thuriya of brahmn consciousness.

 

536. maharshiH

 

mahaan cha asou rshiH cha maharshiH . A great sage.

 

Kaplia was a maharshi as He was known to recite the Vedas without a break and also because He was the great sage who founded the sankhya philosophy. Sankara combines the this and the next as maharshiH kapilaachaaryaH, the sage Kapilacharya.

 

537. kapilaachaaryaH

 

The sage Kapila. The colour of the smokeless fire is known as kapila. This denotes the thejas , lustre of Kapila .

 

acharya is the one who acharathi svayam, follows the righteous conduct himself, and also sSishyebhyaH aachaaram graahayathi, makes his disciples understand the same.

 

538. krthajnaH

 

krthajnaH means the one who remembers a good deed done. Also he knows everything that is done by everyone. He knows krtham meaning His creation and therefore he is krthajna.

 

539. medhinee pathiH

 

In Ran mayana it is aid about Kapila that

 

yasyeyam vasuDhaa sarvaa vaasudhevasya dheemathah

kapilam roopamaasthaaya dhaarayatyaniSam dharaam

(bAla. 1. 40. 2)

 

All the Earth belongs to the omniscient vAsudeva; taking the form of kapila,

He always bears the Earth.

 

540. thripadhaH

 

Prepounder of the three thathavas, prkrthi, the premordial matter, purusha, the individual soul and paramaatha, the supreme being as per the sankhya system and also the thatthva thrayam, three reals of visishtadvaita, namely, jeeva , the individual soul, jagath, the world and eesvara , the Lord.

He thripadh can also mean the three steps of the Lord as Thrivikrama or the three syllables of the praNava or that of the name of kapila.

 

541,. thridhaSaaDhyakshaH

 

 

aDhyaksha means supervisor or master. The Lord is the master of the thridasas, the devas, so called because they have only three states, namely, childhood, youth and adulthood and no old age.It may also mean the three states of waking, dreaming and depesleep in which the Lotrd is the witness self and also of three gunas .
