Guest guest
Namaste, You left out one more temple. The powerful Puthur Shiva Temple in Perintalmanna. Read about it on: http://puthurshivatemple. blogspot. com (without the spaces) Join the two japam groups and experience first hand the power of Puthur Shiva. People came to us at the beginning of the year scared about the economy and we said " Never mind the economy. Do Japam. Focus on Shiva. " Now six months into the year, we are all standing, and the people who came to us crying are laughing being in the warm embrace of Lord Shiva and Parvati. Then there was a woman who came crying to us about her health. We said " Do more japam. Focus on Shiva " and now a year later, she is still alive, with so much tejas, I am sure her western doctor is scratching his head, wondering if his medical degrees are worth much!!! For some reason, Puthur Shiva is a very family friendly God. You will believe it when you surrender to him. I hope you all will be able to visit the Puthur Shiva temple some day. This is a small hill temple situated about 7 km away on the Trissoor- Triprayar (via Palakkal) route. At the Palakkal junction another road to the right leads to Ammadom and farther. If one takes this route for a km or so a subsediary road on the right leads to this hill temple. It is not very far from the Palakal junction. Ask anyone at Palakkal and they will be pleased to give directions. > The place is called Ayyunnu ( anju kunnu or 5 hills ) . There are 5 hills in that place and the temple is on top of the tallest hill. > > Legend has it that the Pandavas on their numorous journeys during their Vanawasa, rested there which then was a jungle. Panchali was tired and said she would very much like to take a bath. Looking around, there was no trace of any water nearby ; no river or pond. > > Then Bhimsen suggested that he would dig a pond. The other brothers joined him and a very large pond took shape. Needless to say, Panchali was very pleased and had a prolonged dip in the cool water. > > The Pandava brothers while digging removed the soil and each of them threw it into different directions . The 5 hills represent the soil removed by each of the 5 Pandava brothers , the biggest hill being that of Bhima. > > After bath Panchali wanted to pray and so they built a temple on top of the tallest hill. THere is also a deep well within the temple prescinct. A thirumeni used to conduct daily poojas. > > jai shree krishna ! > > Achuthan Nair > > > > guruvayur , " chirattapuram " <anair1101@> wrote: > > > > There are several important temples in and around Trissoor.
