Guest guest
Hari-Om Life (or soul)can be compared to a rain drop. Its identity is temporary and lasts only for the time it leaves the sky and hits the earth or the ocean. Before leaving the sky it was part of a massive cloud and when it reaches the ground it again loses its form and becomes part of the ocean or the stream. So is the existence of a mortal in this world. Where there is a beginning there is an end. Nothing is permanent or fixed in this world. A simple example is a leaf on the tree. AS the old leaves whither and fall new ones sprout out. In Hinduism death is considered as a natural process and not as a calamity. In other words, a recycling process, getting rid of the old and replacing it by the new. In other words,pre-destined population control. It is a process by which the soul with some remnants of consciousness leaves the physical body to change /modify its resources and return at a later stage in a diferent form and in a different body. The body since it had been the vehicle that encased the soul has to be disposed off with due respect and according to specified rituals. What happens to the soul after departing one body and before accepting another is a great mystery. There are four heavens where the soul go depending mainly on a person's karma, present and past. They are, Vaikundha, or Vishnulok., Kailasa or Shivlok, Brahmalok and Indralok, which is the standard one, Then there is the Yamalok, Hell. If one is directed to the sun's route there is hope for salvation. The important aspect is the state of the mind at the time of death. There are two routes by which these places can be reached. The Sun's path ( the bright one ) and the Moon's path ( the dark) depending on one's past deeds. WHETHER hell or HEAVEN. THE PURPOSE IS NOT TO PUNISH OR to bless but to re-educate re-evaluate. Hindus believe that the mortal' body consists of five earthly matters, namely- Fire, Earth, Water and Air and the heavenly matter , Ether. Hindus cremate the dead so that these same matters are returned to their originl source. An alternative to cremation is the process in which the dead are immersed in the Ganga river because Ganga is considered very sacred and by doing so the sins of that mortal are washed away. jai shree krishna !
