Guest guest
Namaste! I also have heard the story of the parrot. A genuine query on that will help in many ways. The parrot story goes well with the rest of the incidents in Ramayanam and therefore people have a tendency to propagate the same. Also many of you must have heard of a story of a tiff between Melpathur and Poonthanam. Such stories are good for gossip and in my opinion should not be propagated. How can two bhakthas of the caliber of Melpathur and Poonthanam have a rivalry? They are, in my eyes, way above our petty feelings. It is important to get clarifications on such stories. After knowing the genuineness or otherwise we should propagate the correct others who talk about it. Shanthiji did a great service by bringing this topic. My pranams to her. May Guruvayoorappan give us the ability to speak about His glory! Guest guest
Hari-Om ------- Gurudevas, The reason why Rama abandoned Sita was the adverse remarks made by a washerman (Dhobi) , which Rama overheard. I understand that there is a reference to the caged parrot's curse on Sita in the: Padma Purana, Pathala Khanda, chapter 57 in which the parrot curses Sita thus, You shall suffer , in your city, the same fate of seperation of couples as it has happened to us. May be there is no mention of this in the Valmiki Ramayanam. jai shree krishna !
