Dear Friends,

Hari Om!

There was an interesting part in today's episode of Bhagavamrutham in Asianet

that I would like to share with you. The lecture was about how we should pray in

temples. Swamiji said that most of us go to temple and pray God to give us the

things that we yearn for and when we get it we want something else. We are

basically wasting our time in the temple by asking for and going behind things

that will perish one day.

According to Bhagavatham, whenever we go to the temple we should keep in mind

that we will not ask anything from God. If our mind is attached to material

things then we will not have a steady mind. The moment we get what we desired

our mind will go after something else. Basically, we should be clear about three

things when we go to a temple

1. My mind has come from You and it has to finally go back to You. If there is

anything that I can call myself in this world that is You because I came from

you and belong to You

2. I will consider the circumstances and events in my life as your `Prasadam'

and accept it.

3. I will live my life with a mind that is neutral to the world around me. I

will live my life with a mind that is in `Sama Budhdhi'. My body came from

nature and is for doing service to others with love and affection.

Regards,

Anand
