======

A long awaitedoffering to the Lord

=======================

Once long ago there was a poor brahmin who had no home or family. But he was a devout bhakta of Bhagavan and since he had nowhere to go, he spent almost all his time under the Arayaal tree, chanting the Lord's name. He lived on temple prasadam offered to him by other worshipers but otherwise went hungry. He had no desire for anything except to be able to prepare some palpayasam with his own handss and offer it to the Lord some day. He had this idea for a long time but could not fulfill that wish as he had no means to get the items required, that is, milk, ghee, sugar and rice. He prayed to Bhagavan every day and asked for His help but nothing materialised.

He became dejected and sad but one morning after his morning rituals something within him told him to go ahead and make the Palpayasm . So he collected three pieces of rocks and made a fire place. Next he brought some fire-wood and made an imaginary fire. He put an imaginary pot on the fire place, pretended to pour milk, sugar and ghee and waited for the payasam to cook. He pretended to stir it with a twig and after a while his imagination told him that it is cooked and ready to be offered to the deity.

However he wanted to make sure the ( imaginary) palpayasam was good enough to be offered to the lord. He dipped his fore-finger in the palpaysam and...................OUCH ! he felt sudden burning sensation and when he looked at his finger, it was burnt !That confirms Bhagavan accepted his ( imaginary ) offering as real. An offering made with pure devotion.

Krishna, Guruvayoorppa, Bhaktavalsala.

Hari Om !

No doubt, HE accepts anything we provide, if given with full devotion.  The story is too good.

Dear Savitriji, Jayashreeji, and other Gurudevs,

Pranaam.

This shows Bhagavan loves His devotees immensly and accepts what is offered to

Him in any form, not necessarily Gold and jewelry or other material offerings.

As Savitriji mentioned, Bhagavan considers acknowledges Manasa Pooja equivalent

to the other elaborate worships.

A simple , sincere desire to please the Lord is more than enough to make Him

happy. We humans have a false belief that material gifts will please the Lord

but He is everything AND EXPECTS NOTHING BUT SINCERE DEVOTION from His children.

In Gita, He tells Arjuna ;

" The leaf or flower or fruit or water

that he offers with devotion ,

I take from the man of self-restraint

in response to his devotion. 26

Whatever you do ---what you take,

what you offer, what you give,

what penances you perform--

do as an offering to me, Arjuna ! " 27

GITA 9/26-27

Krishna, Guruvayoorappa,

AVIDUTHE PAADARAVINDANGALIL PRANAAMANGAL ARPPIKKUNU !

jai shreekrishna !
