Hari-Om

This song, immortalised by play back singer P. Leela is among the most

favourite and popular Krishna geetams.

The author of this song is no other than Bhagagavan's adopted mother,

Kurooramma.

There is mention of this in the Guruvayoor Devaswom Website under the heading

Guruvayoor Saints / Kurooramma.

It is believed that the song Kanikanumneram is attributed to Kurooranmma

Bhagavan used to play pranks on Kurooramma all the time and often disappeared to

see how she reacted. Often when she wss sad and lonley and worried at the

absence of Unnikrishna, she would go to her pooja room and recite the verses ;

Narakavairiyam Aravindkhshante cheriya nalathe

kalikalum....................................

Kanikanumneram kamalanetrante..................

Let the Lord Guruvayoorappan's holy name be glorified.

Jai Shree Krishna !
