Guest guest
HARI OM, With changes to the planets, astrologists (even those which is provided in newspaper columns) recommends each one of us to pray to the required Navagraha to overcome the doshas/to attain benefits etc: As per my understanding, Lord Krishna stopped the people of Vrindavan from offering prayers to Lord Indra for benefits (which resulted in heavy rains and Lord Krishna protecting Vrindavan & finally Lord Indra accepting that his action was not right). Lord Krishna also says to the people of Vrindavan to pray to either one of the tri moortis or to one's kula daivam (ista deivam) only and not get waivered with praying to so many Gods for different requirements (from my reading of the Bhagavatam. Excuse me if I got the message incorrectly). So is it required to pray to Navagrahas? Also one prays for a specific remedy for a specific period of time to one specific planet, and after the bad effect period is over, there would be another planet which would have bad effect for each one of us, and we move to the next? So prayers to one specific navagraha is done only for a specific duration, until the bad effect period comes again. Quite difficult to digest, since its like making friends/relationships and then breaking off, once we overcome the problem! Find astrology and what the Lord says above to be contradicting? Or is my understanding of the above wrong? I beleive insights from our learned gurujis into this topic would benefit a lot of us, especially when newspapers informs us of planet movements, which affect different stars in different ways. Guest guest
Guruvayoorappa. Dear Devotee of the Lord, As far as my little knowledge goes, worship to God is relative, and it depends on one’s faith and belief. We believe that there is Divine Grace in everything in the world, irrespective of the fact whether it is grass or gold. What we ignore as grass may some times be the ‘Mrithasanjeevani;. So, it is no wonder we worship planets, which are pure Celestial Bodies. It is not a secret now that each planet has its own unique polarization/ frequency which affects all living things in the universe on a cellular level. The influence of time and space of an event stamps, then and there, a permanent seal on it through the planetary alignment, the forces of which are flowing around us in invisible channels directing our lives towards certain conditions, some of which can be adjusted and or modified by knowing them well in advance at the right time. Astrology is supposed to be the Science of the Absolute. In concluding the introduction to his Autobiography, ‘Wings of Fire’, Shri. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam writes “ We are all born with a Divine Fire in us. Our efforts should be to give wings to this fire and fill the world with the glow of its goodness.” In order to glow the goodness of the Divine Fire in us, and to remove ‘doshas’, it seems good to worship the planets. It is commonly said that you can change the worship of planet among the Navagrahas, as the dasa period changes. For example, when after Mars dasa comes Rahu dasa, you can change worshipping of Mars to Rahu, amidst the Navagrahas, provided they are found afflicting you in any way. It is no wonder Lord Krishna, the Supreme Power, ask the people of Vrindavan to stop praying Indra. Also, it is in unequivocal words that the Lord tell them to pray to either of the Tri-Moorthees or to one’s Kula Devata only, and not to get confused. In short, again, if you feel to worship Navagrahas , it is up to you. One thing is certain that worshipping of Navagraha is never going to entail any additional difficulty to you, it seems. Changing the worship of planets, may perhaps be like changing medicines for change in diseases, like the medicine for Flu may not be effective for Swan fever. It is never like changing friends. There seems no contradiction in the Lord’s statement, because it proves beyond doubt that if you believe in faith, there is no question of any fate. Poojaneeya Gurudevs may forgive and correct me if I went wrong. Padaravindame Saranam, Guruvayoorappa Saranam, mpr Thank you, Have a great day, mprnair, nairradhakrishnan. guruvayur [guruvayur ] On Behalf Of Anil NN Tuesday, September 08, 2009 11:54 PM guruvayur [Guruvayur] Navagrahas & Kula Daivam HARI OM, With changes to the planets, astrologists (even those which is provided in newspaper columns) recommends each one of us to pray to the required Navagraha to overcome the doshas/to attain benefits etc: As per my understanding, Lord Krishna stopped the people of Vrindavan from offering prayers to Lord Indra for benefits (which resulted in heavy rains and Lord Krishna protecting Vrindavan & finally Lord Indra accepting that his action was not right).
