KNOWLEDGE IS THE SELF

OM NAMO NARAYANAYA

Today morning, on my way to office, I was driving through Delhi

roads. I was late for a single second to cross a traffic

signal-light. For a moment, my mind was in conflict with two thoughts

that, I should jump the red-light in order to save 2 minutes or should I wait

until I get the proper light (green light). On the very moment, I saw a

person riding a bike has jumped the red-light and gone away. I thought

him of so smart and clever.

 

Almost by this time, I got the green signal and continued my ride. After

passing a few meter, I found that, the fellow who jumped the red-light is

arguing with Traffic Police wasting his precious time in the morning. I

am sure that, the argument is a futile effort and he cannot be free from those

Policemen without giving either a penalty or a bribe.

 

This incident is the affirmation of the Mahavaakyam "Knowledge is the Self". The

Lord Who is sitting in my lotus-heart in the form of knowledge and consciousness

convinced my mind that, jumping red-light is an offence and can cause not only

a penalty, but more than that.

 

This is just an example. The thing is that, the one who has

knowledge has no worry and pain. Ignorance is the cause behind all

sorrows in the world. The one who place the Lord in their mind and

worship Him always will be free from such things. We even do not know, from

dawn to dusk we are rescued from so many problems like this by the

divine consciousness within us. One has to remember that, any of these

problem is more than enouch to destroy our happiness and put us in traps and troubles in life.

 

So let us pray together to the Lord to shower the light of knowledge and bliss

on us and guide us through the righteous path to the ultimate truth.
