771. chathurmoorthiH

 

Refers to the four vyuha

forms of the Lord. In Krishnavathara also He incarnated as Vaasudeva,

sankarshana , Pradhumna and Aniruddha.

 

772. chathurbaahuH

 

The Lord is represented as

chathurbahu, four arms. He manifested in the same form to Devaki at the time of

His birth.

 

773. chathurvyoohaH

 

In His four vyuha forms Vasudeva

has all the six qualities of Bhagavan, namely jnana, bala, aisvarya veerya

Sakthi, thejas are all present while the other three vyuha forms, sankarshana ,

pradhyumna and Aniruddha have two each,

jnana-bala;aisvarya-veerya and shakthi-thejas respectively.

 

774. chathurgathiH

 

He is the four

purushaarThas, dharma arTha kaama and

Moksha for His devotees.

 

He has four gathis, gaits,

vrshabha , that of a bull, vyaaghra, of tiger, gaja, of an elephant and simha , that of a lion.

 

In Ramayana the gait of Rama

and Lakshmana is described as gaja simha

gathee veerau Sardhoola vrshabhaupamau

 

He is the goal of four

varnas and four asramas.

 

775.chathuraathmaa

 

He incarnated as four forms

as Rama and Krishna, Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha and Sathrughna and as Krishna , Balarama (sankarshana) , Prdhyuman, and

Aniruddha.

 

He is the power behind the four functions through which the Atma is

manifest, namely, manas,mind, budDhi,intellelct,

ahankara , ego and chittha, intuition.

 

The foor states of jiva

namely, visva in waking state, thaijasa in dream state, prajna

in deep sleep and thuriya as the

pure self are referred by chathuraathma.

 

He is the inner self of

the four kinds of people who resort to Him, aarthee , those who seek relief from suffering, arThaathee, those who wish for fulfillment

of desires, jinjaasu , those who

seek knowledge and jnani, the wise,.

as explained in the Gita by Krishna.

 

 

 

 

776. chathurbhaavaH

 

He is the indweller of the

four kinds of species, sThaavara,

plants jangama, birds and

animals manushya, humans and devas.

 

777. chathurvedhavith

 

He who knows the four

Vedas. The real purport of Vedas being the Lord, only He Himself knows it in

full.

 

778. ekapaath

 

The whole universe is only

a part of Him. paadho asya viSvaabhoothaani thripaadhasya amrtham

dhivi. Only one quarter is the whole

existence and the rest of the three quarters

are above .

 

779. samaavarthaH

 

He is incarnating again

and again for the protection of His devotees.

 

parithraaNaaya saaDhoonaam viNaaSaaya cha

dhushkrthaam DharamasamsThaapanaarThaaya sambhavaami yuge yuge.

 

" I incarnate in every

yuga for the protection of the good and destrucy tion of the wicked."

 

780. nivrtthaathmaa

 

In incarnations He is not

affected by the actions. Na maam

karmaaNi limpanthe na me karmaphale

sprhaa, says Krishna in Gita, meaning that

He is not affected by actions nor by the fruit of action.

 

781. dhurjayaH

 

Invincible.

 

782. dhurathikramaH

 

No one transgresses His

command.

 

783. dhurlabhaH

 

Unattainable by those who

have no devotion, bhakthyaa thvananayaa SakyaH as he says

in the Gita.

 

784. dhurgamaH

 

In comprehensible. Not

understood bty inteelect but only through intuition and devotion.

 

785. dhurgaH

 

Not reachable due to

avidhya

 

786. dhuraavaasaH

 

His abode is unattainable

exect through devotion and meditation.

 

787.dhuraarihaa

 

Destroyer of wicked

enemies.
