Krsna is the only shelter …..………...... Nectarean Mellows

Parikshit understood that in this world there is only one shelter, and

that is in Krsna and when he came out of the womb, although he was made

the king after Yudhistira renounced his kingdom to go high into the

Himalayas, Maharaj Parikshit due to the association of these great

devotees, due to being brought up in an atmosphere of Krsna

consciousness, he never forgot that Krsna is the only shelter, that

this world is a place of danger and there is one thing worth living for

and that is Krsna. So Maharaj Parikshit, although he had all of the

royal opulences and a beautiful loving family, he was never attached to

any of it in the mood of exploitation but he was simply attached to Krsna and he was attached simply to help all those in his

family, all those in his kingdom to come closer to Krsna and therefore he utilised everything in devotional service.

-- At the present moment our minds are polluted with the dirt accumulated over millions and millions of lifetimes of sense gratification. Even though our original pure nature is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss, due to our mental contamination we are presently suffering in the realm of temporality, ignorance, and misery. By the purificatory process of chanting the holy names of God we can revive our original, pure nature and thus relish the sweetest happiness at every minute.
