If the man thinks that the beauty of a woman is for himself then he would exploit her, that is not protection, but if a man understands that the beauty of a woman is actually meant for the pleasure of Krsna, Krsna is purusa, everything and everyone else is prakriti, it is meant for His enjoyment, then how much will that person care for and respect his wife, there is no question of abuse, there is no question of neglect and at the same time there is no question of exploitation or unholy attachment. False renunciation is to think that I am not attached so we neglect and abuse, but this is called maya, it is unrealistic, incomplete, immature form of renunciation. Yukta vairaghya is to understand the utility of everything and everyone for Krsna, so if this is Krsna’s property, how much more should we care for Krsna’s property, how much we should protect Krsna’s property, if we have this consciousness, grhasta life is Vaikuntha, but we either have other extremes then it is the material world, if the husband and wife think I am enamoured by your charms, and I will enjoy for my own purposes, then what happens is, it is simply the deep dark well of material existence.

H H Radhanath Swami Maharaj-- At the present moment our minds are polluted with the dirt accumulated over millions and millions of lifetimes of sense gratification. Even though our original pure nature is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss, due to our mental contamination we are presently suffering in the realm of temporality, ignorance, and misery. By the purificatory process of chanting the holy names of God we can revive our original, pure nature and thus relish the sweetest happiness at every minute.
