Guest guest
Dear Krishna Bhaktas, The last sloka of Srimad Bhagavatam reads as Follows:- Namasankeertanam yasya sarvapapapranasanam Pranaamo duhkhasamanah tam namaami harim Param (12.13.23) It means"He ,the Lord, whose name when chanted destroys all sins,He who removes all sorrows when one prostrates,to such Lord Hari, I bow down." From the above concluding sloka of the great Bhagavatam, it is abundantly clear that it is only the name of the Lord that can protect us from sins, sorrows, sufferings etc. All of you might be aware of the story of Prahlada, Dhruva, Gajendra,Ajamila etc. etc. All of them were protected by the name of Hari, Narayana etc. All these stories are contained in Srimad Bhagavatam. Incidentaly, talking about the glory of Srimad Bhagavatam, another sloka of Bhagavatam is worth mentioning:- Srimad Bhagavatam puranam amalam yadvaishnavanaam priyam Yasmin paaramahamsyam ekam amalam gyanam param geeyate Tatra gyanaviragabhaktisahitam naishkarmyamaavishkrutam Tachrunvan vipatan vicharanamaparo bhaktya vimuchennarah (12.13.18) "Srimad Bhagavatam is the spotless Purana. It is most dear to Vaishnavas because it descibes the pure and supreme knowledge of the Paramahamsa. The Bhagavatam reveals the means for becoming free from all material actions together with the process of transcendantal knowledge, renunciation and devotion. Anyone who seriously tries to understand Srimad Bhagavatam, who hears it and chants it with (shraddha) bhakti or devotion, he becomes completely lberated." Now what more do we want to be freed from our accumulated sins and avoid the cycle of births and deaths(punarapi janan punarapi maranam) and cross the ocean of samsarasagara? Pl. think.
