Guest guest
Dear Savirriji and other GuruDevs, I liked the song starting " kallu veno " , which you had written here at the end of an article recently. This is sung usually during sapthAhams. Could you please let us know more about it and who is the author of this. Also, I read about Sree Shengali AnanthaRama Dikshitar who was a great Guruvayurappan bhaktha and that he was cured from disease. But I could not get the details. Please let us know more about him. Thank you very much. regards, sreedevi om namo narayanaya
Guest guest
Dear Sreedeviji, Seemaji, and other Gurudevs, I have the full lyrics of Kallu veNo by bhakthakavi Vaazhakkunnam. I will type it slowly in Malayalam and will send it to the group in a couple of days. The lyrics are so sweet and wonderful. Whenever we have Naraayaneeyam discourse with Malayali audience we chant this before or sometimes I like to chant this after the Chapter ThriNaavarthha Vadham because after killing the asura who fell dead like a black mountain, Krishna appeared like a Neelakkallu (neela rathnam) shining on that mountain! May be from Melpaatthoor's that description, Vaazhakkunnam got the idea. Also there are other several beautiful Malayalam bhajans by Vaazhakkunnam. Gajendramoksham is another beautiful one. They all are brimming with Bhakthi, Bhaavam and deep meaning. I was thinking of sending one by one (that are in my collection) through my Kannanulla Kaatthu. Anyway, I will type this for you and send it separately. Anantharama Dikshithar was a great devotee of Guruvayrappan and the suprabhatham he wrote is very famous. He is the guru of Prema Pandurangaji and I have heard several stories of Him during her discourses on Bhagavatham, Naarayaneeyam etc. He was cured of his leprosy by chanting Naarayaneeyam and he has performed many Bahgavatha sapthahams in Guruvayur. I have heard of one sapthaham he conducted at Thruprayaar temple as per the request of Lord Rama himself and it was attended by an unusual number of devotees. Anyway he contributed so much to spread the glory of Naarayaneeyam among Tamil devotees.
