Guest guest
Dear Lakshmiji: Thank you for sharing a wonderful, redeeming thought on this Friday, a day traditionally sacred to the Mother. Although I did not serve my mother as ideally I should have, her blessings are felt during each moment of my life. Singing hymns and reciting holy names at Sanddhya time with her from age three or so till age 12 is the most solid spiritual training I have ever had. She also taught me the second Dashakam of Shreemad Naaraayaneeyam which describes the glory of Bhagavaan Shrikrishna and establishes the supreme power of Bhakti as a path. Those ten sloka-s have acted as a supreme mantra for me in the past five decades of my life. Pranaamam to BrahmaShree Naaraayana Bhattapaada --the Rshi of the Paramam Mantram that Shrimad Naaraayaneeyam is -- as well! Because of the blessings of my mother and of course also of my father, both of whom have passed away, I have not felt the need for another Guru in my life. They taught me all I need in this life(Naama Japam and Keertanaalapam. An they are always guiding me in my spiritual journey and my material life in response to my prayers to them. As you said, God incarnates in our lives as our Mother and Father (and other elders and Gurus and Mentors). Maataa Pratyksha Daivatam--says it all. Vande Mataram! Shree Maatrusvaroopaaya RaadhaKrshnaaya Namaha! DKM Kartha (Mohanachandran)
