Greatful if you can help us to dig deep the answers through the learned Gurus of our group. The questions are: Why only seven & a half year period duration per cycle for Sani dosham & what is the significance? The repetition or the frequency of the cycle of Sani Dosham is once in 30 years - This is what I heard & is it true? A Human being cannot have sani dosha more than 3 times in a normal life time? ( 30years X 3 Sani dosha) These are hearsay verdicts which bump at us very freuqently. Could you please arrange to throw some light? Greatful if you Can to clarify through Navaneedham or the group. Guest guest
Guruvayoorappa. Dear Shri: Krishnakumar Kuppusamy, Devotee of the Lord, At the outset, your questions are regarding the planet Sani (Saturn), the details of which come under the vast subjects, Astronomy and Astrology. There are many websites in our itself dealing in detail with Astrology also. I would like to recommend you to join any one of them; some of them even teach Astrology well. I will try below, using my little knowledge, to answer your questions, very briefly and precisely, hoping it will be helpful to similar inquisitive people, aswell: Astrology is the Science of Stars. The nine planets in the sky, namely, the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Neptune, which are within our Universe, have impact on Earth. We are concerned only with these planets for prediction. We also take into account two shady planets, Rahu and Kethu. There are thousands of stars in the sky, which can be seen on a clear night. Most of them are too far away from earth to have any conspicuous influence on Earth. All these planets are always moving. Their route is known as the Zodiac, which is divided into 12 Signs or Houses (Rasi), starting from Mesha Rasi (Aries) to Meena Rasi (Pisces). Astrology teaches us that the Universe is governed by a perfect system, accurately timed with marvelous precision and accomplished with unerring exactness. The planetary forces are flowing around us in invisible channels directing our lives towards certain conditions, of which some adverse ones we can avoid by knowing them well in advance. The movement of every planet is regular and periodical. Accordingly, Saturn takes two and half years to move from one Sign to the other Sign. ‘Kandakassani’, ‘Ashtamassani’, ‘Ezharandassani’(Sate-Sati) etc. are terms used with reference to the movement of Sani, calculated from the radical Moon (Janma Rasi), for predicting results in ‘Gochara’ (Transit). Transit is always calculated from the Moon Sign and when Saturn moves through three adjacent Signs, (including the Moon Sign and Signs on either sides of the Moon), taking two and half years for each Sign, thus totaling seven and half years together, is called ‘Ezharandassani. To begin the next Ezharandassani, Saturn has to arrive at the 12th Sign from the Moon again. For that, it has to travel the remaining 9 Signs, taking two and a half year for each Sign, totalling (9 x 2 ½ years) 22 ½ years in the usual case. Because of Saturn’s frequent retrogressive movements, it sometimes take 30 years to start the next Ezharandassani. In that case, generally it is not easy to have 3 Ezharandassanis in one’s life time, because he has to live up to 90 in order to get that privilege. If Ezharandan (short term used) starts at the time of birth, it may not be that easy to get 3 of them. The first Ezharandan, some people say, as ‘Mangu Sani ‘, meaning it will make you chaff (destroy); the second, ‘Pongu Sani’, meaning it will make you float (difficulties) and the third, ‘Mangala Sani’, meaning, you will get whatever you wish. Since the subject is very exhaustive, I know my answer is very short, but I will be glad if it at least partially satisfied your inquisitiveness. Guest guest
Dear Sir, Thanks a ton for taking the pain to explain about Ezharandassani. In tamil, we call it as Ezharanaatusani. Your answer has cleared the cobwebs of the thinking & has given the right direction to the subject. The incident that has prompted these questions & doubts is as follows: For a 52+ year old person who is under the influence of the 3rd Ezhararandassani cycle now, How many years later will he face the next cycle of Ezharandassani ?. Another 22.5 years or 30 years? Can somebody will be lucky enough to face and undergo the 4th cycle of Ezharandassani? This question has disturbed my friend & has injected a huge amouont of insecurity in the mind. What is your opinion? Kindly advise.
