Guest guest
Dear Gurudevos, Pranams to each one of you on this very special Guruvayur Ekadasi day. It is believed that on Ekadasi day lord Krishna conveyed the Bhagavat Gita to Arjuna and hence this day is observed as Gita dinam as well. Thousands of devotees will throng to Guruvayur temple to observe Ekadasi vritham and will offer Dwadasipanam samarpanam to conclude the Ekadsi vritham. Special Ekadasi food comprising of wheat meal, Puzhukku, Rasakalan and wheat payasam will be served to thousands at the temple oottupura and temporary Pandal outside the West Gopuram. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple which opens at 3 am on Monday morning will remain opened till 9 am on Wednesday. The 30-day-long Ekadasi Vilakku celebration at the temple heralding the Guruvayur Ekadasi concluded with the Sampoorna Neyvilakku by the Guruvayurappan Sankeerthana Trust on Monday. Guest guest
Dear Sreehariji and others, For those of you can't read Malayalam and font issues, Sreehariji was mentioning about the two different lines in two different parts of the world on Friday morning. In US, it was black Friday - the day after Thanksgiving day - famous for shopping craze as most of the retailers slash prices and make huge sale. It is very common to see huge crowd of people standing in line since midnight to be the first ones to get into shops to buy the limited quantity of sale items like electronics. Considering the extreme cold weather and the shops open only in the morning makes it really hard. In today's world whether it is US or India or any where else, majority of people stand in such lines for materialistic gratification of life - but in Guruvayoor the hundres of people were lining up since midnight was of a different purpose on Friday morning - get the Darshan of Guruvayoorappan Krishna and spiritual well being. Sreehariji was comparing this spiritual line to that of the consumer line. ------------- Thank you for the nice comparison and it is so true. Hopefully we all can keep the true heritage of spirituality than being in the wrong line of life. Good reminder!
