Guest guest
Dear all, Bhagavad Gita is one of several gifts Bhagavaan gave us which can be opened again and again and each time you see another great aspect of life shining inside. Here is the pearl I found today. Bhagavan said: idam shareeram kauntheya kshethramithyabhidheeyate This body represents the Kurukshethram. All the fight between opposites like good and evil, kindness and cruelty, happiness and sorrow, selfishness and selflessness, self discipline and lack of self discipline happening in our own mind represents the kurukshethra yuddham. Both good and evil actions takes place here. So it is both Dharmakshethram and kurukshethram. When we aim " shreyas " or eternal goodness we are Pandavaas and when we aim " preyas " or transient material pleasures we are Kauravaas. Like Arjuna, often we become confused by the fight of opposites or dwandaas and the only refuge is our Lord Krishna who is with in all of us shining as Kootastha chaithanyam. When He tells us " kshudram hrudayadourbalyam " or " weakness is death " , we get the energy to get up and go. In the first sloka, Dritharaashtra asks Sanjaya: " Sanjaya, what are my children and Pandu's children doing in the Dharmakshethra kurukshethram? " What is the symbolism and message in this sloka? Any spiritual aspirant should ask this question several times a day or at least at the end of the day to see whether our sadguna-pandavaas win over our own durguna-kauravaas or whether our positive thoughts and actions could win over negative thoughts and actions. Enlightened souls assure us that if we do it everyday and correct our mistakes by listening to His whisper, Bhagavaan who is the owner of our Kurukshethram will not let us do any Adharmam and will whisper in our ears at appropriate moments : " yathO dharma: thathO jaya: " or where there is Dharmam, there is success. But they also warn that Bhagavaan's divine voice become audible only when we purify our mind by good thoughts, actions, prayers and kindness. Bhagavaan's words " Where there is Dharmam, there is success " shows His divine impartiality or divine justice. " Hantha bhaagyam janaanaam " . May Bhagavaan's continuous whisper become audible to us and direct us through the right path! Regards and prayers Savitri
