Divine guidance of Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba – 11

How can we understand and apply the Atmic Principle?

Undertake spiritual practices that help you know your Self. There are a number of bulbs glowing in an auditorium. Bulbs are different, but the current is the same. Similarly, it is the one Atmic Principle that makes different bodies shine. Awareness of this principle will help you appreciate the Divinity in all beings. Divinity is not confined to a particular place. It neither comes nor goes. It is present everywhere at all times. Turn your mind inward, develop Divine Vision. Realize the Divine Light present in one and all.

How can we be involved in our daily duties and still reach the Lord?

Every spiritual aspirant must enter on the path of inquiry. If you aspire for peace and equanimity, the basic thing is you must have faith in the temporary nature of the world and be engaged in the uninterrupted contemplation of the Divine. Do not be bound by the selfish attachments. Engage yourself in the discharge of duties and do not allow yourself to be gladdened by success or saddened by failure. Be ready to renounce all that is harmful, and then leveraging discrimination, you can beat the drum of victory by attaining Prasanthi - supreme peace.

What are key examples to understand deeply 'Loving Devotion' to the Lord?

The spiritual aspirants and devotees of the yesteryears reached their goal through Santhi (peace). Ramdas, Tukaram, Kabir, Thyagaraja, Nandana (Great Devotees of the Lord), all of them cultivated the fortitude needed to bear all the calumny, torture and travail, that was their lot. If you base your effort on these examples, you will be free of anger, despair or doubt. The accounts of their struggles and successes, when contemplated upon are more useful to the aspirant than the contemplation of the powers and accomplishments of the Lord. These accounts will help you to try out in your own experience, the methods which have been developed. You will find that Santhi (peace) was the main instrument that saved them from the coils of anger, pain, conceit, doubt and

despair. Dear aspirants, acquire the instrument Santhi, with the Grace of the Lord. Direct all your efforts to that end!
