Today I read that we should pronounce the word " Rama " as it is spelt and not " Ram " . This got me thinking about how important it is to clearly repeat the words of the Hare Krsna mantra. Then I started to chant Rama properly and it had the effect of making me concentrate alot more on the sound and I could really relish the Holy names and absorb myself more and more.

Please try this, to pronounce each word very carefully and to hear with great concentration.

It Will Be Good Every Day

Why is it a struggle on some days to concentrate while on other days it is easier This is the very definition of unsteadiness. When you become steady, it will be good every day. You can make advancement in japa when you always look forward to doing it, feel pleasure when you do it, and do it with steady consciousness. Another measure is that you will feel less material desires. That symptom is more important than exactly how much bliss you feel while fingering the beads.

-- In this material world the conditioned soul is very much distracted from his original all-knowing, all-blissful nature as Krishna's eternal servant because he is carried away by the so-called taste of material sense gratification. This artificial taste is encouraged and exploited by the materialistic propaganda mongers who make a handsome profit by misguiding the people in general promoting cigarettes, liquor, prostitution, meat eating, etc. The foolish sense enjoyer tries to become happy by squeezing as much pleasure as possible out of these things, but because there is no factual pleasure in sense gratification, the poor soul is ultimately left in a state of frustration and bewilderment. If, however, he will reconnect with his original transcendental nature diving deep into his eternal identity as the servant of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he will taste a pleasure that is unlimitedly sublime and will go on increasing forever.

Chant:Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare HareHare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare

Dear Manikantanji and other Gurudevs,Radhe Krishna! The pronunciation in every word in Samskritam is important, not only in names.   The north indians have converted everything into their so-called Hindi dialect converting " Darsanam " into " Darshan " , " Avataram " into " Avtar " , " yugam " into " Yug " , " naama " into " Nam " " Jnaanam " into " Gyan " and so on and so forth.  We, as a group, should stick to the Samskritam versions of such words.  Wen we were preparing the English version of the Bhaktaranjini commentary of Narayaneeyam, this was discussed threadbare and we decided that we should stick to the samskritam names in the true letter and spirit and you will find that at every place, the correct Samskritam usages are resorted to.

By the way, by the divine grace of the Lord, the second edition has already gone to the press and I hope the books should be ready by Vishu.   As I have the bookings right from 2007 when the first edition got sold out, I will have to go by the booking dates and depending upon the couriering limitations, restrict liftings accordingly.  I shall be intimating everyone individually when and how to make the payments. accordingly and request everyone patiently to wait for their turn
