Guest guest
Loving Divine, Pranam. Yes, God / Soul / Brahman is the source of everything as described in Gitaji by the Lord - I am the bija and Prakriti is the mother of all. The way you have described in your email is not directly true rather emotions come from the nature/prakriti in the presence of the Soul. Please read and digest Chapter 13 of Gitaji. Let us first understand what is emotion? Gitaji has the very first chapter start with the emotion - Vishaad Yoga. Through out Gitaji various emotions are discussed like, kaama, krodha, lobh, moha, etc. When there is 'vikaar' or i should say when we deviate from the equanimity state, emotions arise. They are caused by our desires - conscious or unconscious. Emotions are born out of imbalance in tamas ( e.g., intertia/aalasya, nirashaa, etc.), rajas (e.g., anger, greed, bhautik prem - attachment, etc.) and satva (e.g., saatvik/aadhyaatmic prem, karunaa, etc.) gunas. These 3 gunas belong to Prakriti but the Soul is above these 3 gunas so no, the emotions do not belong to the Soul or the Soul is neither attached to them nor impacted by them; however, prakriti can create these emotions within us only in presence of the Soul - dead body can not feel any emotions, the body has to have Soul for our lower nature (ego) to feel anything! Hope this helps... Guest guest
avadhuta maharaja <avadhutamaharaja Mohit; As far as I understand the Gita, we are to become 'dhira' or undisturbed by material circumstances. There is no discussion of the emotions related to 'bhakti' in the Gita per se, since it is just the beginning phase. Lord Krishna does emphasize the process of bhakti, 'Bhaktya Mam Abhijianati' but the details are not given. But, details are given by Rupa Goswami in his books, like the Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu and others where 'bhava' or emotions on the spirtual level are discussed, especially in relation to spontaneous devotion or 'raganuga bhakti'. These emotions are felt when stimulated by things related to Shree Krishna like His flute, His smile , His joking , His words, His dress, etc. When these emotions are intensified then different ecstacies take place, such as 'anubhava', 'sattvik bhava', vibhava', etc. But as regards the emotions in relation to the world they are all under the control of the three modes of material nature discussed in chapter 13 and 14 and 18.
